A question for all of you who trip on mushrooms often:
Why do you do mushrooms? What do you get out of it? I know a lot of people just do them because they are fun and you get to see crazy stuff but I think you can really get something out of them if you use them right. Personally I love doing them because of how much I learn each time I do them. everytime I do them a learn something new and have so many realizations.

    Another question:
What does mushrooms do to your brain? Can they make you dumber? I find myself doing them quite often and for a few days after I usually feel like my brain is clouded, I'm just kind of in a daze and can't do much (work wise). Because I do them relatively often I am curious as to what they do to your brain?

    Sorry for the dumb questions.

well, I see people mushing around like every week, and they do it just to look "cool" quite frankly... but there are smart trippers around... I love using mush, because it is super spiritual, I learn things every trip. when Im tripping, all Ill do is meditate, or lay on a couch, and that is how I let the mushrooms show me its reality.

I learned a few things about myself when I bad tripped, it made me view life differently... and not long ago, I was laying on a couch.. eyes closed, half dream state, half awake, I was living two parrallel lives sort of. Those are the reasons why I use this beautiful tool.

I honestly dont know what they do to your brain, for me, they showed me a different perspective of life.. and I am stuck with that new perspective for the rest of my life.. It made me become an indifferent being, who doesnt really have feelings honestly.. cause I think of everything as illusions...

And I also feel that cloud over my head after tripping... when I take small-normal doses though, my trip will end perfectly without this cloud being over my head for days, but on large doses... Ill feel weird for at least a week, its like.. everything goes so slow, Im not really 100% HERE, like, a part of me is shut down... and theres this weird thing that happens to me ... Ill lose my senses (they ll seem further), for a week... Like... Id touch my arm... and its like if my senses arent as sharp.. theyre not IN my hand, theyre like "out-of-it"

i've tripped about 100 times on many different substances, and mushrooms make up the largest number of trips. this has all been within the past 3 years, and i've never really felt burned out or anything from it except for twice. once when i did 2C-B every weekend for about 2 months, and once when i took two or three 2C-E trips and one DPT trip all within a week's time.

    everyone is different, however.

people say "i learn from psychedelics"
i say "WHAT have you learned?"
and most will have no answer.

does that mean that you haven't learned anything? or that you invent what you "learn" via powerful psychological tools such as psychedelics? or is it that among the most consistant "teachings" of psychedelics is that reality isn't all it's cracked up to be, or is different for everyone?

i agree there are some very real benefits to be obtained through psychedelics, but it's not so simple as just TAKING them.

much of what i've "learned" from psychedelics would sound absolutely absurd or even crazy to a regular person if i tried to tell them about it. things about death, the order of the universe, society at large, the human soul, the nature of knowledge itself. but first and foremost i realize that everyone perceives reality differently and that no one way can be right or wrong. therefore all that i "learn" is relevant only to me unless someone else is on the same wavelength as me. i've been lead to certain conclusions, leary was led to other conclusions, and terrence mckenna was led to still different conclusions, and everyone else i know with a spiritual outlook on psychedelic use has come to their own types of conclusions. need proof that this isn't a surefire "teacher"? everyone learns completely different, and often contradicting, things.

the answers don't lie in the drug, they lie in you. the drug is the tool to unleash these things. everyone is different, and everyone will "learn" (perhaps "remember" is a better term here) something different.

Yep that is all true.. but thats the things about psychedelic drugs, they make you visit yourself. you learn things from yourself... thus, the universe .
