hippy defenation

What is you'r defenation of hippy?

it's a lame question, but interesting.

 

A hip person, someone who lives their life how they want to live it without interfering with the way anyone else wants to live theirs.

 

seriously.. how many freakin threads like this are there gonna be?

 

It's an okay definition... and it's something I know some of us have asked a time or two. As Satchmo said, we all do do, re, mi, but you've got to find the other notes yourself.

 

I'm still trying to define "definition"

Hippy is something i will never define.... Just like mormon... We're allllllll human!

nahhh. that's a very broad, generalization. hippie is really just a stereotype isnt it? (dont think i mean anything bad when i say stereotype), but at least define the stereotype. i think hippies are people who live righteously (sp?) according to liberal, environmental, and personal spiritual standards, and they encourage others to do the same. Hippies believe in peace, love, and respect for the earth and its creatures.

 

Some of us tend to live as machines.

 

Hmmmm I definitley would not say machines... although thier motions and behaviour do resemble it.. what is in the human spirit is much more than a piece of steel and computer chips... adn uhhh... OH shit ! the machines are marching thi sway!!! I must not be swept in its inescapeable jaw!

 

i think it's a person who loves life and doesnt needs peoples excetance.....

 

I think being a hippy , is setting yourself apart from the ideas and sharades of modern society to be true to yourself as a person , and to nature.
