"PETS - Rainbow literature discourages bringing pets to gatherings; however, many gathering participants chose to ignore this request. Exact counts were not possible, but an estimated 4500 dogs were present, along with cats, several birds, lizards, two llamas and one goat. The goat was eaten during the gathering. "
    That's funkin' outtasight!

"DRUGS - County officials and residents were extremely concerned there would be an increase in drugs in the area resulting from the Rainbow Family’s presence. This fear has not been realized; however 178 hits of LSD were found in a public restroom in Paonia, during the gathering period. "

    oops.

"Managers need to remember they are dealing myth PEOPLE. They need to find common ,. ground and work from there.

Humor will go a long way. It Drill lessen stress levels in managers. Information couched in humor Oil be better received.

Managers need to identify which Family members are the power people, who has credibility and can make things happen. This can only be learned by working with the Family on site. "

Umm. Maybe the managers can learn how to speak English? And they'll never find the leaders. Don't let them managers find the leaders. Tell them, they are myth people! They like Oil rubbed on them! Now hop to it double-time sergeant and find those oily myth people! I want to talk to them too!

Becca you cannot deny that there are folks who get a lot of respect and people listen to them that 's teh elder tradition that was carried for years, and I think overall still is.
myth people is a nice way of saying people who operate on a different fairy tale than they do, except they don't see that their story is as much of a story as ours.
Like inter religional discourse: find what unites.
    Good words for anyone.

To folks unexposed to Rainbow, the language we use is a diferent dialect at least.
magic hat, green energy, no guns in the sanctuary, A camp, focalizers (although that is catching on in New Age circles)... see?
we need to be able to meet the folks who really do care about the forest land (let's leave greed motivation by the entity that is the Forest Service aside for now, the individuals I got to know such as Mary and Rose who volunteer for EVERY gathering because they think it's cool were good hearted people even if it did feel like a MAJOR generation gap scene)

Everyone, camp AWAY from the water. You can pee in LA's water as you leave.

ocassionaly a hunter or farmer will drop off something dead at a kitchen, & provifed it doesnt get served at main circle and they offer vegan alternatives some kitchens are ok with cooking dead things

but hey..yopu should bring your beautiful coons..i'd love to meet em..just, be allittle careful..not all the dogs are well behaved, & some of the humans who come withn em arent much better when it comes to keeping an eye on them..
i would love to see more cats birds lizzards monkeys coons fox's whatever..& fewer dogs.. but some people just have nowhere to leave em so gotta bring them..
just please, if you do..be responcible for your dogs & keep them out of fights & kitchens

Colorado '92 was the only national I went to. Lots of regionals, though. It was beautiful. It seemed like there was almost constantly a rainbow somewhere in the sky. I remember sitting up on the hillside where love'n'ovens was and looking over the valley and seeing rainbows over the hills at the other side of that huge valley.

And the trade circle. I scored. For giving a guy 2 hair wraps I got...um...happy for like a week.

I haven't been to a gathering in ages because I can't drive. It didn't matter when I didn't have kids, but now it just hasn't happened in a long time.

my sweetie was there (92) with his ex and they encountered a curious black bear.

Rainfall has been the same, so look out for our really furry forest friends. It's been really low snowfalll in the river basins.

The disturbing part of the story is she scared him away by looking out of the tent.
    there's a reason she's an ex! ;P

there was a carni kitchen in the first (lower) bus villiage at New Mexico. And my omni sweetie always hits a greasy burger place on the way back. It's his grounding.
