Try Avast, Antivir, or Clamwin. Read up on their limitations first, and see which one best fits your needs. If none of them do then send me a PM, and I'll hook you up with a free copy of NOD32.
Here are a coupla links I ran across in another Forum. There's some interesting reading along w/the expected boring... http://www.av-comparatives.org/ http://www.research.ibm.com/antivirus/SciPapers.htm ~~~~~ Liroy, Are they using 'trojan'/'worm' interchangeably in your quoted article?
Antivir is free as well,I think.. I've got Ewido..this seems to help.. against Trojans..even register can be scanned.. Never heard of NOD 32.. Thanks anyway..i'll check the links..
My take... Had Norton AntiVirus and frankly, my computer would have run better if it were infected. Uninstall failed to work so I had to spend 3+ hours editing my registry deleting NAV entries. Installed AVG and I have my computer back! The folks at Symantec.com can sit on a meat cleaver and rotate.

My mistake. I meant to ask 'Are they using 'trojans' and 'viruses' interchangeably in your quoted article?'
