Thank You, it's just ultra fine sharpies on normal paper, my scanner sucks, it didnt come out too well
really like what you got going on on the whole right side of the drawing. the repetition of the design is enjoyable : )
i think its a great starting point however i think if you did more of them you might get a tecnique down. i see a lot more potentiial in this (sorry to be critical but im trying to be productive) i liek the inclusion of little images... maybe incorperate them into the patterns more anf break up the larger blocks of colour. just my two pennys
You're right about the big blocks of color, towards the end of it, I kind of rushed it just to get it done, I probably should have spent more time putting it all together. It isn't very often that I finish any of my stuff, and with the sharpies bleeding all over the place, I got frustrated and just put the big blocks of color in to get it done. This is the first time I have posted anything I have done, or for that matter, shown it to the outside world in any form. I appreciate all of your commentary, be it positive or negative. Next time I post, I'll make sure that it isnt rushed, I know I can do better. Thank You All, Matt
its was not negative critisism, it was productive critisism Im an art student, i guess ive just got into the habit of critically wlooking at work and giving feedback i like the way the dragon comes out of the pattern and i like the octopussy bit too
Oh man I was totally opening this thread hoping to see artwork made of actual excrement, or at least involving excrement in some way. I'm so disappointed. Not that your thing isn't cool, I'm just disappointed.
thats awesome..i kinda see a dragon, if thats anything you were even going for..but i guess it all depends on how you look at it! but its really amazing! i really like the colors peace love ryvre skye
i actually like the big blocks of colour... as if it's two 'worlds' opposites or something... (and i was an art student too ) (but then again, i disagreed with everything they told me :& and quit before i got a degree) but hey, i love this! it's no crap at all man, it's groovy!
i think its perfect as it is... you've got a great technique.. its not cluttered like alot of peoples work can be ... its beautiful
groooovy can i just give my three cheers for sharpies? they rock my technicolor world. not to mention they make me my livelihood (they are the best fabric markers i've ever used)
the dragon-esque thing is nice. reminds me of the page master dragon and the neverending story dog or whatever that was. it seems kind of scary but something you want to cuddle at the same time. the shapes and colors give the feeling of being...busy. not chaotic just busy. the animals and their shapes are really nice too, they're not just characteristic shapes and stuff which i really like. score one for you matt.
i like it. i agree with fleassy somewhat on technique, but i think if you did a series of these as a body of work it would fit in well with others.
Yummy colors. I agree with Fleassy too, but man, keep it up, you've got great skill, and the creativity is so clear Good work!
