i was hardcore abusing oxycontins (and a bit of vicodin) over the winter break with all the money i had gotten for christmas. well, i blew all the money (atleast $270) and i haven't been in school since it started again because of withdrawal. my parents think i've got the flu, so i'm pretty lucky they don't suspect anything. all of my symptoms are normal including my inability to sleep at night and that my back and neck hurt like a bitch (i've been taking my dad's skelaxin to rid myself of this pain).

i'm not too concerned about any of that stuff, the only thing i'm really worried about is my head. using my brain is hard as hell and everything seems so cloudy. i love painkillers (and stopped doing pretty much all drugs besides them for the past 7 months) but it's never done anything this bad to my mind up until now. i know it's safe for me to assume that this cloudiness in my head will go away with some time, but i want to know if anyone here has gone through this and/or has any words of advice for me?

actually the doctors dont prescribe valium cause of heart attacks from withdrawl..so get your line str8..its so you can sleep at night cause of bein addicted for so long...i been addicted for 3 years and i been clean for 8 months but iam on methadone for the addiction, probably will be on it for the rest of my life..so when your talking about opiate addiction dont say anything unless you know its true..thanks

What are the symptoms of heroin withdrawal?

Regardless of dosage, these reactions may appear

    ~Convulsions
    ~Increased heart rate
    ~Abnormal heartbeat
    ~Heart attack
    ~Sudden, sharp blood
    pressure increase
    ~Stroke
    ~Extreme depression
~Suicidal behavior As withdrawal progresses, elevations in blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate and temperature occur. Symptoms of overdose -- which may result in death -- include shallow breathing, clammy skin, convulsions and coma.

I guess i did know it was true huh??? God i hate smart asses that love to correct me yet cant get their fact straight.Hey how about next time b4 u comment on what i say u .U GET UR SHIT STRAIGHT!!!!!

Baltimore.................unless you want to be another junkie statistic, quit, and dont go back to painkillers. It doesn't work, never will, your constantly chasing something that you'll never capture, i've seen so many lives destroyed because of it, i've od'd myself, I know it feels great brother, but stop, if you've got any self respect, stop before its too late.

In my opinion, Methadone is a cop out, instead of buying H, you get the government to pay for an alternate.....an alternate thats just as addictive, and posesses way more dangerous withdrawal symptoms (including death) ya........thats smart.

All my love and support brother, to you and anybody else that decides to quit. And those of you that don't, I send you all the positive energy and love I can muster in the hopes that someday you'll wake up.

Ya just got to kick it, I go through stages with valiums and zannys.

My stupid self took about 3 bars a day for several months and just stopped, the first two weeks were hell. But luckly it was over the christmas and new years holiday so it didnt fuck my work up.

    Good luck.
