Battlerusa is an 18 stop touring Battle of the Bands contest held by the folks that put on Wakarusa. The 18 winners will all recieve a slot to play at Wakarusa. Just go to www.wakarusa.com then click on Battlerusa for more info. I've allready given the info to the Ben Miller Band and Cinna the Poet. They're the only good bands around here so it would be useless for me to put up any posters as all the other bands around here are just a bunch of crappy nu metal,punk and goth wannabes that think that music consists of banging on the same three power chords and screaming about their sorry little lives. Oh well Cinna the Poet and Ben Miller Band make up for all the crap that passes for music around here.
Nice list of rooms! I saw moe at the Bottleneck years and years ago, zillions of shows at the Cain's (what a great spring loaded dance floor, a joy to hoop on), I live paint with regularity at Cervantes' Masterpiece, the Aggie is sweet, Georges is the only place in Ark to go now that Chester's is gone (saw YMSB there Nov 17, 2000 celebrating the piss test job I landed: test was that morning) Opolis in Norman. I'm thinking this is a new storefront (I moved from Norman in 2001) and a project of local go-nowheres Starlight Mints.
