I know that your skin relfects your health.. but I eat very healthy (very little sugar, no coffee, vegatarian, no milk, all organic etc.) and still have pretty bad skin. My skin is not horrible but it's not great. I used to think it was because of having dreads and not washing my hair as much as I did before, therefore the oil on my pillow would screw up my face. But now I have come to accept that I was cursed with bad skin, so what can I do to improve it? Does anyone know any foods that are good to eat or something? I am not exactly looking for some recipe for cream or something.. just wondering what I can do to my diet to improve my skin.

    Thanks in advance.

Given that you already have a healthy diet and you're 17, it's most likely hormonal.

I'd have to agree it's probably hormonal. The only thing I could suggest would be to consider how much water you drink daily. I know plenty of people who eat healthy and have cut out all the bad stuff, but are still dehydrated. So, if you're not drinking eight 8-oz. glasses of water a day, I'd suggest trying that. If you're already well hydrated, I'd blame the hormones.

Are you on the pill? Depending on the person, the pill can have positive OR negative affects on a person's skin. For example, when I was on Diane, my skin was great, almost perfectly clear, I loved it. Then when I switched to another one (not on it anymore, badness) my skin EXPLODED. Now, I'm on yet another one, and the problem is clearing up again.

I recently read that many vegetarians suffer from acne because of a zinc deficiency. Are you taking any vitamins? There is also an active thread about acne in the health forum if you want to check it out.

    Thank you:)

And thank you everyone for the advice. Lately I've been drinking a lot more water and it is really helping. It probably has a lot to do with my age as well. Thanks again.
