can any of you yarn goddesses figure this one out?

i'm okay at crochet, and i think with a few tries i could figure this out. but some help is always appreciated

i like the look of the tam in this auction. it looks like two seperate pieces, one regular solid tam and one netted tam on top. i can make the solid tam no problem, and i think i could figure the netted one out, but i think my problem would be getting them close enough to the same size...

what do you guys think? like the look of it?

I'd say make the netted one first and then make the solid one because its easyer to judge the size of the solid one when your makingg it... at a guess.
