To those of you who really dream of World Peace

Brothers and sisters,I'm happy that this site gives me the chance to tell you what i want.
Not long time ago our brothers and sisters,the hippies from the 60s wished to live in peace,love and harmony with each other and with nature.Their idea arouse in the time of war and didn't make it for very long.People think that this idea was just an utopia and impossible thing.But i'm asking you,do you really think that all theese hippies were fighting for a lost cause,can you say that their beleives were just rubbish?Cause i can't!
In searching for the key to the World Peace some of the hippies even got to the ancient indian tribe of the hoppies.One old indian from this tribe,David Mononsh had become a real guru to those hippies,talking about the way we could reach the real Peace.This man talked to crowds of young people for the Great Cleanse after which will survive only those who will succeed in fusing with the ''Spirits of Nature''.One of the predictions of the hoppies for the end of the world is saying that many young people with long hair will join the native inhabitants of America to study their customs and to live with them.
Guess who were those young people with long hair!Yes,it's true,this prediction talks about the hippy movement of the 60s.
I beleive that the indians know the way to the World Peace.In fact people from different indian tribes many times wanted to warn the members of UNO for the danger of destruction on our planet.Unfortunately no one wanted to hear them.But on 25.10.1985 the wise man Leon Shenandoa from the indian tribe of the onondagies made a speech in front of the UNO members.Here's part of tis speech:
''Every nation has wise and good people.They should be choosen for leaders who will advise people and will work for their flourishing.Their power comes from the Great Peace.
We were given directions to love the person next to us and to respect all the creatures on Earth.In our customs the highest form of policy is the spiritual awareness.When people stop feeling respect and appreciaton for all theese things,life on Earth will be completely destroyed.
Every person has the sacred responsibility to keep our planet which is the source of all forms of life.We should live in harmony with Nature and realize that its extreme exploitation could lead only to our self-destruction.We should obey Nature's Law or we will become its victim.
In the name of Peace we should unite,all of us,the four races,like one family,which,in fact,we are.We should destroy the nuclear and conventional weapons.We should choose for leaders only the real supporters of Peace.We should unite all the religions across the world in one moral strength which could enforce itself in harmony with Peace.It's not enough anymore to shout ''Peace!''.We should act in Peace,live in Peace,walk forward together in Peace with everybody around the world.We are the spiritual energy which is thousands of times more powerful than the nuclear.Our energy,the united will of all people,combined with Nature's spirit,should be one body,one heart and one mind,fighting for PEACE.
We suggest 24 October to be declared for Day of Peace,in which everywhere around the world all fightings should be stopped in the name of our children and in the name of the coming Seventh generation''.

When i red this great speech for the first time i asked myself what i am really doing for the Peace.I told myself that we should start fighting for our planet,for the Peace which will save our lives and the Mother Earth.
Don't you think that the time has come now and we have to do something?

that was beautiful, and i agree completely. we all want it, and solely hoping for it isn't going to do anything. the first hippie movement happened in times of war, and there's a war going on right now. i honestly think the time has come for us to stand up and fight for peace again.

 

Would agree with you 100%. Have for years. Now where do we go from here? One thing I think that could be done is in the 2006 election. Everybody who can - vote. Vote out everybody who is in office. Yes, I know that there are some good people in local even state offices. It does not matter. Vote against any current office holder. If a high enough percentage of us do that, it will be noticed. Other ideas are more than welcome.
