River of the Names The silver beams of moonlight Touch the crystalline tears A silent powerful voice sings A sound that lasts for years In the deepest silence Where nothing else exists They call the name of Ram Could there be any other bliss? Nothing is known of science None truly understand the meaning of life But love guides each trembling syllable Love makes finally the darkness Light Once we were caught up in the chaos Often it still happens, you see But when the river of the Name flows through our hearts We catch her current and we are free. None of it seams to matter Beautiful water washes our fears So does calling, "Oh Krishna", "Oh Rama" Ignorance leaves in tears Tears of bliss Tears revive Tearful river waters Renew our lives Once we were selfish Once we were sad But those words "Oh Krishna", "Oh Rama" Finally bring us back The greenest tree only grows With water, love, and light Such are the myriad children In need of such a diet Water of the Names Cool, refreshing, sweet Love of the Lord Grace to touch His Lotus Feet Light that has existed Within us all along That forth will grow and blossom When we sing His song So, as the moon continues to shine Over and over We repeat this rhyme Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare The river flows Continuous and sweet Thus this poem is offered for all Before His Lotus Feet
