Origin of the work "nincompoop"

"Nincompoop" is actually one of the oldest words in the world. It originated thousands of years ago when humans were much less evolved than we are now. In fact, we were still very close to chimpanzees in both appearance and behavior.

Feces was one of the most useful tools we had available to as at the time. It would be hardened in the sun and used as a building material, it could be used as fertilizer, you could burn it to keep warm, and of course, during times of conflict, you could fling it at your enemies.

Wars between tribes were extremely common back then, so the feces was typically stored in two piles. One pile was used primarily for combat (combat poop or "compoop" for short) and the other pile was for domestic use (non-combat poop or "noncompoop").

Over time, we learned to use stone and wood as building materials so the "noncompoop" became less and less useful. The word "noncompoop" (pronounced "nincompoop" in English) eventually became slang to refer to a useless person.

The extremely ancient origin of this word is the reason that "nincompoop" is the only word in the world that has a phoenetic equivelent in every language with roughly the same meaning in each of those languages. (Typically a useless or idiotic person)
