Do you say no to soda or other high suger drinks or foods. Explain your diet is it fully enriched with everything you need or do you enduldge in potato chips and cheetos?

I was bored and thought, who doesnt want to talk about themselves? hah

soda is my downfall, both for teh caffeine and the sewwt tooth side.
I try to keep that under control, but occasional junk is, in my opinion, OK.
    It's all balance.

I think my allergies alone dictate a rather strict diet. I am allergic to several artificial colors & flavors, so most "junk foods" are a naturall no-no for me.

I will drink soda, but only to counter a headache. I've de-sensitised myself to caffeine to the point where a 20oz pepsi will cure my headaches... which has gotta be better than meds, no? Otherwise when I just want something with bubbles, I'll mix carbonated water with 100% fruit juice. I get the bubbles I want, and lower the calories in the fruit juice all at once!

Potato chips & cheetos & such just have no appeal to me. I prefer raw veggie sticks with a blob of fat-free dressing to use as dip when I want something crunchy.

But my weakness is the "healthy" carbs. There's just nothing healthy about eating mashed potatoes by the bathtub full, and I have every confidence that given the chance I could do just that. So I have to use a measuring cup to keep myself honest with all of those comfort-food carbs.

I eat vegan at home and vegetarian when I am out with people, unless te restaraunt is vegan friendly.........I dont drink soft drinks um only herbal tea water and soem natural drinks that the guy down at the jamaican restaraunt makes (he doesnt process them either).....I usually dont eat processed foods. usually buy organic.......My downfall are the words "Hey lets go to starbucks"...but if i do i get a decaf soy mocha with no whipcream. If I eat candy it is an extreme dark chocolate wildlife bar.

The only thing that really gets me is convenient food. I mean, why walk all the way to the dining hall in the freezing weather when I can make a vegetarian vegetable cup of noodles in my nice warm room? Not healthy at all, but I try and balance it out with convenient and somewhat healthy (but more expensive) stuff from the grocery store, and I really DO get out of my room a lot to get real food!

no. =) don't mean to be a downer, but, although i know what you're saying about the meds, aspirin is a much healthier way to get rid of headaches. keep in mind it's basically an extract from willow tree bark (seems like a good thing to me, at least =)

NVNC, she has NASTy headaches. if caffeine works, more power to her.
Caffeine, if I've not been a flippin' junkie for it, works wonders on my halo headaches (warnings of a potential seizure)
Has something to do with cappilary dialtion.

coffee is actually not bad for you. it has a fair amount of antioxidants, though not as many as tea. caffeine has also been shown to boost short term memory :p i think i'd prefer coffee over aspirin which is not very good for your stomach lining

Coffee is like most things, it's good in moderation, but not if you are drinking 5/6 cups a day.

I'm vegan.... pretty strict I guess. I don't drink soft drinks, or eat any processed food, anything that looks like it didn't come out of the ground. If it has Enumbers or wierd stuff I won't eat it. I try to eat organic where possible.

I have maybe a coffee a day, but usually I just try to eat natural foods all the time.

Yes, I realize that. Wish I could take aspirin too, as it would help with my arthritis as well. But unfortunately, I have a deadly allergy to it & all anti-inflammatories. Which means that for a headache, (usually a precursor to debilitating migraines) my option is Tylenol... which I'm sure you know too just doesn't work ;)

They WHAT? You mean, they go out purposefully waiting around to get stung?

Now I'd heard that royal jelly is supposed to help, but I've never heard of this before! Wonder if the two are related somehow. But gosh, that sounds rather painful to me!

I dont know...i watch them do it all the time and I can attest to the fac tthat it really does help them...this one guy keeps his bees up in his barn and then he gets one once a day for his daily sting....he puts the bee on his arm and gets the bee to sting him. He never even flinches.

Osteo... as in osteo-arthritis? Hmmm, that's what I've got, among other problems! I've gotta pester the doc about this, when I get around to seeing him. My mom has a deadly allergy to beestings, but I've had allergy testing & it came back negative for bees. But they say it's not quite the same thing. If there were something to help this goshawful hip problem, I'd be the happiest kid!love,
    mom
