I haven't seen a thread for this book around but if there is a thread on it already then I apologize.

So who else has read this book by John Steinbeck? I have a mentally challenged cousin so the character of Lenny in this book really touched my heart. I felt so sorry for him at the end.

I nearly cried when Lenny and George started to talk about the farm they were going to have and how Lenny would tend to the rabbits while George loads up the gun, ready to stop Lenny from leading a miserable life after the accident that happened. We never got to see the movie in my class, but I think that had I seen a visual of that last scene I'd probably be bawling my eyes out. I still get tears in my eyes thinking of that scene and how badly Lenny wanted to tend those rabbits.

Yeah it was a really good book, sad and such. We are complete assholes so we laughed but it was sad

I absolutely love this book! Everyone talks about the Grapes of Wrath when you bring up Steinbeck, but I think Of Mice and Men is better. I cried so hard it the end, it was so moving and sad...

Exactly! I haven't read Grapes Of Wrath, however, so I'll make that another book to check out of the library next time I go visit the books there.
