just a random thought i had the other day...

being an Aussie, i've always thought it a bit weird having a queen from a different country that didnt do anything, lol

how do you guys feel about having your flag plastered all over other countries' flags? and having a queen that is on the back of other countries' coins?

no hard feelings, i love yas, but our royal connections are a bit... outdated, yeah?

She doesn't do anything here either so I for one feel the same as yo do.

I am a world citizen so couldn't give a stuff about the flag. I have lived in your country for a while not to mention others and having a son who is half JApanese.

    :)

Don't think there is that much British in our queen anyway ... She comes from Norman and German descent. The British haven't had a proper native monarch since 1066.

    I say we revolt.

hey, at least prince william is hot. when was the last time you had a good looking royal?

i found out something kind of funny out at the lake the other day, here in new mexico. there were some people on a houseboat, and the wife is from new zealand. so she had her new zealand flag flying from the boat. the park rangers actually came up to them and told them that they had to have an american flag flying from the boat on new mexican waters. showed them the handbook and everything. bizarre, eh? so they put up the american flag, too. they just hadn't gotten around to it yet.

Americans do tend to be quite anal about their flag .. and why you would want something as flammable as an American flag on a boat is beyond me ... ooops :p

just to be anal pre 1066 our monarch was saxon and therefore german. as lest it means we don't have a presidant i'd feel so much like a wannabe yank i'd probably find a small island to live on.

Being British often makes me feel guilty. I learn about the terrible things that the forefathers did and it makes me feel sick that any human could do some of the things they did to another human being. I don't understand people who are patriotic. What do we have to be proud of?

you can trace every single countries forefathers to doing really really nasty things. unfortunately it's human nature :(

It's having a sense of belonging, if you feel like you belong in a country it makes you feel much better about yourself. Its about gratitude to the country in which you grew up in, which taught you everyhting about who you are and taught you everyhting you need to know. Just appreciating what you are, and appreciating that you are part of the country and it is part of you.
