Out Of those choices I'd have to go with, A Live One You enjoy myself, gumbo, Stash, theres some good shit on that album, Plus I dig their live stuff a lot more then their studio
I had to go with Billy Breathes, Free and Theme from the Bottom are so good on that one, and Taste too, but live they are so different. Studio though, they're great. On junta, divided sky I love so much, but never heard a live version I like so much except maybe 6-18-94. Phish is so funny though, none of the ones I mention do I like live very much, and many live songs I like much better. Go figure, I think most phish fans will agree it just works that way. I didn't even consider A Live One much, but love the Slave on that one. Ah, to decide...
you didn't have it on there, but i love "Round Room", its such a raw album, and so amazing. the songs are so phish, beautiful orchestrations and complex jamming. i checked, "Billy Breathes", because its the exact opposite of "Round Room"....a very studio album. very clean and beautiful....and lets not forget the amazing "sicket disc" a creepy psychedelic album, made from the left over jams of the Phish Phenomenon "Story of the Ghost".....i could go on, Phish is my favorite band.....i love all the albums....from Junta to Undermind....
no one listens to studio, man. live phish 17 is one of the best, and NYE 95 is awesome. buy the lve phish series, and a live on, biitersweet motel, etc. much better than studio
WOW. When Billy Breathes came out we were all shaking our heads. I eventually came to appreciate the album but in now way could I ever agree that it is their best. Billy Breathes was very commercial and they gained quite a lot of air play on the local big name FM stations. To this day many feel it was the sign on the wall telling us their days were numbered. For me. Hands down tie between Picture of Nectar and Junta. ...oh I pretended the live albums were not included. This should have only been studio albums. Start a new thread for best Live show.
