May I show off? I don't know how many of you are rodent people, but these are my boys. Mr. Pigg - Crested American, bought 10/2001. Approximately 5 1/2 years old. He is our "little old man" and adores curling up with my son, and will do anything for fresh cilantro. Junior - Abysinnian, adopted 1/2005. 13 months old. Junior is my sweetheart. He is a perpetual flirt, and loves to give piggie kisses. He will wheek for attention whenever anyone is around to hear, and he adores crisp pears. Oreo - breed unknown, (suspected satin gene) rescued 11/2005. Approximately 1 1/2 years old. Oreo came to us with several problems, due to mishandling/improper care. He is still very hand-shy, bites, and will not eat fresh foods yet. But he adores being held & talked to quietly. He is warming up to us quickly though... especially to my daughter, who seems to be developing a strong bond with him.
These are just a few of my favorite pics of the boys. DD & Oreo, checking each other out. Poor Junior, fresh from the tub & rather perturbed at being all wet. And this is our piggie-palace. 42" wide, by 74" long. It sits behind the sofa in our living room. It's on a table that we built to fit, and all of their hay & other care products are underneath it. I guess you could say I'm hopelessly in love! love, mom
Oh my gosh, they are all so cute! Are they permentantly house pigs, or do you let them outside sometimes? I had loads when I was younger (16 at one point, some boys got in with some girls and did what they do) and I wish I still had them now, they brought me hours of fun!
OMG they are sooooooooooooooooooooo cute That is an awesome piggie palace. My rabbits have a log tunnel just like that, they love it.
Aww, thanks! It's nice to be able to spoil someone... can't spoil the kids, they'll grow up rotten. And I do spoil my husband, but it's not the same. These little guys can be pampered all we want & all we'll do is sweeten their tempers. Yes, my boys are indoor-only boys. I have a kiddie-pool that we grow full of herbs & grasses for them, and they are let out to bounce around & nibble grass in the sunshine. But they live indoors. love, mom
adorable!!! i want one but not with my 3 little hunters they seem very happy... you must be a great mama guiney pig
I used to have Guinea pigs. They both died. Today my teacher said he is going to buy some guinea pigs and eat them. He thinks that they will taste like rabbit and that rabbit is good.
