I caught a really bad cold on Christmas and it was probably the worst sore throat I have ever experienced. At times I thought I would suffocate to death because that is how tight it felt. It was hell for three days then I swear overnight it went away. But everyday since then, I wake up in the mornings not being able to talk and the pain is pretty bad. Then an hour later, everything returns to normal. Like my voice has to warm up or something. I don't have insurance so seeing the doc is pretty much not an option. Is this serious or should I wait a few more weeks. For now, I am using a humidifyer to keep my throat moist while sleep.
I also get frequent sore throats accompanied by that "tight" feeling, which is from swollen glands in the neck. It is almost always worse at night and first thing in the morning, and then improves (often disappears) during the day. Swollen glands always happen to me the second i get an illness, but sometimes even when i don't "feel sick" (like you don't feel sick anymore) I still experience that some mornings and evenings. It's probably not ideal or anything but also probably not the worst thing in the world. You may feel ok but your body is still fighting whatever you had off. If it only happens in the morning and continues to improve, no worries. If it comes back full swing, gets progressively worse, then you might want to suck it up and get seen. Hope that helps! ~ Silly
see if you can get some general antibiotics... my throat was all swollen up a few days ago (still is but not half as bad) and I ended up having pharyngitis - my pharynx was seriously swollen up. Take advil/ibuprofen too, because it's an anti-inflammatory and will help reduce swelling if that is the problem
everytime I'm sick i just cant seem to get rid of whatever I have. I know being sick sucks though. Take lots of vitamins, rest and liquid. And if it continues you should see a doctor just in case it is something more serious.
