Ashton Kutcher is in it....i don't know the other peoples' names though.

It's about a guy (Ashton) who has a disorder kind of thing, where he blacks out sometimes, and has no idea what just happened around him. He finds a way to go back in time through his memories later, because when he reads his journals, he finds himself back in the blacked out situations. He keeps going back and changing things, because he's tring to save a girl's life.

It's really good though, i loved it, and thought it was an awesome idea

i think it is about the chaos theory, the quote they present at the beginning of the movie.

"if a butterfly flaps its wings on one side of the world, then it will start a typhoon on the other side"
it is about choices and consequences really, when he 'goes back in time' he trys to change something to make things turn out alright... ultimatley, it shows the power of the choices you make, even the small ones. theres a scene in the movie, where the kids put a firecracker in a mailbox just fer the hell of it, and the lady comes home and she carrys her baby to the mailbox and the baby dies.

i honestly dont remember the ending, i fell asleep before i finished it yesterday... and the only way he could go back in time was through the jouirnals of his memories, and i know he kept fuckin shit up even more and more when he went back, and one time he could not get his journals cuz he ended up in the psychiatric ward, but he got them again somehow...

It was a good though disturbing movie in some aspects. Basically the message is that every action has a consequence.

i think it was an awesome movie, specially for ashton kutcher. i saw it yesterday, and i wanna see it again. it was crazy, but had a really weird ending. he kills himself in the womb before he's even born. is that how it ended in theaters? cuz someone said earlier it was an alternate ending...

That movie was very good!!!! One of the best that I've seen in the movie theater! I'd have to say that's one of Ashton's best performance yet.

The Butterfly Effect was an excellent movie. Unfortunately, most people will probably never get it's message. Everything we say and do effects the lives of others in some fashion.

the only time i felt something remotley close to a feeling of crying was when that kid burned the dog, but then i realized it was a camera trick.

i thought it was incredibly sad

in what kind of sick twisted universe is a person punished for being with their soulmate? i hated that in order for everyone else to have a happy life, he had to give up his true love.

i havent seen the director's cut

At first i didnt want to see it , because it had Ashton Kutcher in it...and i really had no respect for him as an actor, considering he plays mostly idiots. ie. Dude Where's My Car? and That 70's Show. I was suprised at the amazing job that he did...It was an amazing movie, I watched it twice... I really enjoyed the theories behind it, ...and the story they put it in. It was quite sad in fact, ...although i definitely recommend watching it..

wow awesome movie. once i shed the bias i have for kutcher i realized he's not a bad actor really. the kid versions of him made him seem better i think but he was still good. the movie was one of the few which made me say shit like "noooooo!" and "ohhhh shit!!!!!!!! ohhhh shittttttt" just cuz u were with him all the way. very good director.

I like the Directors Cut better than the theatrical version. It kinda explains more and leave a better mark on your memory.
It is about the Chaos Theory, meaning if you change one variable you effect everything around you. Kind of like the Ripple Effect. Throw a pebble in the water and the ripples get bigger.

I wonder, for everyone who saw it, when the kid goes to meet his father; maybe the father was having a similar flashback so he can kill the kid and help his own future. Just a theory.
