Victoria island Is a verry remote island in the Artic. Cambridge bay is probably your best bet if you want to go there as its the largest village on the island. Its unspoilled wilderness up there, a backpakers dreem. just make sure you go in the summer, as winter tempuraturs regularly drop to -50C some links on this website would probabaly help you get out there http://www.cambridgebay.ca/ http://www.polarnet.ca/polarnet/nunavut.htm
hey shaggy, you probably did mean Vancouver Island right? the one off the coast of mainland BC, with the city of Victoria at the south end, right? If so, YES, HIGHLY recomend it if your at all into the outdoors and funky people I did a one month backpacking trip out there and up to Haida Gwai (also know as the Queen Charlotte Islands, which is situated between Vancouver Island and the Alaska panhandle islands) so I might be the guy to ask if your looking for good hostels, camp spots, things to do, backpacking trails, info on ferries, whatever. anyways, catch ya later peace
hey man, just so ya know those links are for a place up in Nunivut, ie, the arctic circle, not Van Island, haha
