yes, defenitely good. its about some high school student who has some psychological problems, and takes meds.. he hallucinates some kind of bunny creature, who tells him that the "end of the world" is coming... But that's all Ill say

It's not overrated. It's just that a LOT of people love it so people think it's going to be utterly amazing and then when it's not, they're disappointed. If you expect a good movie, you get a good movie, and you're not let down. But if you expect something earth-shattering just because a large number of people like the movie, yah you're going to be disappointed.

Anyway I like this movie a lot. They are doing a midnight madness event at the Uptown Theatre in Minneapolis of this movie in January I believe. I'm definately going.

    you're right burby!

  12. yes, why is it in new releases? But that aside its an interesting film. Make sure you watch the directors cut because it ties up all the loose ends in the original. I watched the DC a few years after i saw the first and I was like 'ooooooh, now i get it'

I'm going to this theatre in a few weeks to see the directors cut on the big screen. I can't wait. I never got to see it while it was in theatres.

If you clearly understood the movie, you would understand that frank (the bunny rabbit) is not a hallucination. THeirs a whole philosophical theory that goes with the movie.

Yah I think they were just saying that because they were trying to describe the movie without giving too much away, and for MOST of the movie, Frank IS portrayed as a hallucination.

It's "love it or hate it" kinda film...

I suppose for those who haven't seen it, the way to approach it is to not expect anything. First time I watched it, I expected something deep and complicated, but it's best to let it unravel before your eyes..

I actually didn't enjoy it, but that was more to do with some laughable acting.

I got told by my flatmate it was a film about a "hot" (and I use the term loosely) schizophrenic dude. So I watched it not expecting much and was blown away. I explained the real story to her and she managed to stop perving on Jake long enough to get the story... needless to say she was blown away too.
But it really is a yay or nay film. And I've never heard anyone say it's boring.
