when i get comments like that i reply with: well when was the last time you washed the soles of your shoes??? I, on the other hand, wash my feet every time i shower.... so i can say with great confidence my dear that my feet are FAR more hygenic than those shoes you have been wearing.
oh guys, i wish i'd be so confident like you. i love barefoot and flip-flops and i'd also like to wear an toe ring. but i've never seen a guy wearing one in real life. i think a guy wearing one is sooooo cool, especially on the 2nd toe and if it's longer like your's, Kool_Hand_Hip, even cooler. i hope i'll be courageously next summer and i'll try to wear one. have you been the first guys in your area (among friends, school, ...) wearing toe rings? do people recognize it? what have been the first reactions? i guess, it's just an issue the first time you show up with it like if you come along with an earring for the first the or with your leg in a cast, isn't it? please say it is ..... would make it easier for me ;-) btw, brendan, on with toe do you wear yours? and how long's your 2nd toe? thanx Tommy
Tommy, my best advice is just to do it! You'll probably be surprised how much of a non-issue it really is. While obviously things in Austria are probably very different than they are here in the US, we're all living in the 21st Century, and there are a lot stranger things out there than toe rings on a man. I doubt I was the first man in Seattle to wear toe rings, though I had never seen one until I tried wearing them around 1993. I haven't taken them off since. My friends were really the only people to comment and they were all universally positive remarks. Both the men and women I know thought it was "cool" and that I was brave for wearing them out everywhere. Once they saw it that first time, yeah not another word was ever said about them, except to notice when I bought a new one and they liked the new design. Hopefully you'll manage to try one on this summer - if you're shy do it first among your closest friends, because I'd bet they will be the most supportive. Once you've had positive feedback, it becomes so much easier to do it among strangers and out in public. Best of luck!
umm haha i wear them on my toes next to my big toes and they are shorter than my big toes......i have never seen another man wearing a toe ring before.....i havent really had any nasty comments, people just stare at my feet occasionally.......the only "bad" remark i got was from a girl i am friend swith and she was jsut joking around, but she called me a fag.......which she can say it if she wants cause she KNOWS it aint true haha....yeah man just do it, if people dont like it who cares its not about making yourself look cool or hip or trendy, its baout doing what the fuck you feel liek doing and if someone has a problem with it, who cares...how does there insecurities effect you? they dont....peace.
Very few guys around here wear toe rings. All comments have been positive. I dress casual (jeans/shorts) go barefoot a lot in the dry months, weeks at a time, and people never mention it. Maybe I just seem like a natural.
yeah people dont care in the summer....but now that its winter adn i am still barefoot i get the stares anf occasional...where are your shoes....or arent your feet cold...no biggie.
ahahaha.. my favorite still!! "you're gonna get sick not wearing any shoes when it's raining" ahahaha
tommy.....i've worn toe rings for years and never had any comments from anyone, just a few stares but who cares, it's really not that big a deal, but the first time can be scary feeling self-conscious and all, but after a while you don't even know you'e wearing them, sometimes i wear 2 or three on each foot, no big deal really. good luck
thanx guys for your answer, yeah, you're right. it's not important what others think, it's your own personality. i guess i'll do it in summer. Tommy
I started wearing a toe ring when i went to college.I'd never seen anybody else wearing them but do now.Whenever I see other people barefoot which isn't as much as I'd like anyway.
I have 2 sterling silver complete circle toe rings that I got about 10 years ago and i've never taken them off. I LOVE THEM and I was actually the first one in my town to sport such a thing- small town, midwest! I love going barefoot as well though I don't do it as much as I'd like- but this forum has gotten me excited so I think i'm going to start going more! Thank you all for your inspiration!!
cool man...cool...glad you are inspired.....going barefoot is just perfectly natural.....while toe rings may not be as natural, there is absolutely nothing wrong with a man wearing a toe ring....men wear rings on their fingers dont we? so what the difference between our hands and feet? our feet are just hands attached to our legs....
barefoot kid......cool toe ring, once you start wearing them you won't ever want to stop. damn when is warmer weather going to get here? i know i know a long time from now lol
