Are you affiliated with any political party? Are you active within the party? Anyone have any comments about the Green Party? Good or bad
Green Party: one dimensional... apart from the 'enviroment' what else have they to say ?.. no discusions about nuclear no GM ... The country would fall apart.. as long as the 'environment' is ok .. i suppose that does not matter.. meh we are merely the buggers living within it. sorry for being cynical..
Canadian Green Party: I agree with you matthew (I am assuming they are similar). The one here needs to develop more of a distinct platform and policy set. Besides that, they are also splitting the Left vote. I don't know who I'll vote for in the coming election. Not the Liberals, and not the Conservatives.
I guess they would share common dreams and biases.. Burbot. I like Mr Blair and his goverment [Mostly] and the majority of there policys .. So i will be voteing New Labour again ... i am affiliated to that party... not really 'active' apart from spouting off within forums i guess
Im not really affiliated with any party in the united states, though i think ralph nader for the green party is pretty righteous... more so than the democrats and republicans, though the impact of the change to the united states woukd cause some choas and there would have to be some reforms of systems.. i think that potentially green party ideologies and leadership would benefit the united states in its global relationship.. Although mostly i think we just need new governments..
Thank you for all of your posts so far, and I am sorry, I was referencing the Green Party in the United States- though it is interesting to hear the plights of other countries so please post! My whole reason for this post is to try and decide if the Green Party is worth joining or not. I know we're not going to get a Green elected President anytime soon in the US. I just thought maybe it would do some good to join the party?.
I checked out the Us version of the green party.. they seem a little bit more diverse in policy and 'demands' than the UK version... very 'american' 30-Hour Work Week: A 6-hour day with no cut in pay for the bottom 80% of the pay scale. i'd bloody vote for them
I don't know about the others but Canadas Green Party seems to have their head on straight imo. http://www.greenparty.ca/
check this site out: http://www.politics1.com/parties.htm my observation of Greens (OKla and Colorado ) is that they mean so well and don't get their poop in a group. GUess whuch state did not have Nader on the ballot in 2000. Oklahoma...because they didn't turn the petitions in on time! Go to a few meetings, talk to some people. you'll know if that's what you want.
Canada's Green Party's environmental platform received a worse "grade" than the NDP's, from both Greenpeace and the Sierra Club. With a terrible social/economic platform, they don't really have a whole lot going for them.
i don't agree with Green Party totally but i understand where there at. i'm conservative, but lately i've been leaning towards independant
