I was told this weekend that it was good for your hair not to wash it every single day. Is that true??
it's very true. i was watching "what not to wear" with my mom one day (she loves that show) and the hair dude said he washes his every 3 months. i thought that was gross considering how many products he puts in it... anyway, wash it every other day or once a week (depending on how often you need you're hair to be nice, and how oily it gets). i wash my with shampoo only when i need to look okay and then i wash it with plain water everyday. it works fine, but then again i don't even brush my hair if i don't have to...
I think it depends on your hair, when I had short hair I used to wash it every day it did not seem to do any harm. Just go by how your hair looks and feels you'll know when it needs washing
i never use shampoo on my hair to clean it. too many chemicals for me. actually, this really sweet guy that i met last summer said that he never puts anything on his body that he wouldnt put into it, and i've been aspiring to that level of mindfulness about my body ever since. i wash my hair with baking soda mixed with water into a paste, and then i bring the pH back to where it should be with a vinegar rinse. it works beautifully. once in a while i'll condition it with sunflower oil. some of the ladies on the long hair forum only use conditioner on their hair...they are the hair goddesses. it's http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/index.php? if anyone's interested.
Alot of people don't even wash their hair, they just rinse it out and scrub it with water. After like a month or so, your hair levels out and it is'nt so greasy anymore.
I, too learned that washing hair everyday will wash out the natural oils. My hair only gets greasy every 4 days, so about every 3 is when I wash my hair. I'm on a nice little schedule because thats about how long before i have to re-shave my legs. it's so convenient!
I usually have to wash mine every day or every other day. If not it gets that oily smell, which is yucky. I use Jason shampoo it has no sodium lauryl sulfate which I'm really sensitive to.
I only wash my hair once or twice a week. It all depends on your hair type. Some people with fine, straight hair DO need to wash it every day and the oil from the scalp will travel that much faster down their hair shaft. My hair is dry and curly so it takes a lot longer. Just do what makes your hair clean and shiny.
hahahaha I used to shave legs, under arms and down there every day. Now Im lucky if I do it once every 3 weeks. Ah well, the only person who is gonna touch my legs atm is me. *sighs*.
i wash my hair twice a month. i use Dr. Bronner´s castile soap (the hemp tea tree oil kind) for both showering and washing my hair. i do have dreads, too, so that´s why i started to not wash as much, but you see first-hand that the oils are no longer produced as much as before. i also dont shave. it´s been over three and a half years since i last cut my hair and at least a couple of months of not shaving. it´s a great feeling to NEVER worry about hair.
