The discussed plant above was mimosa hostilis and not illinois bundleweed. A simple a/b extraction is all that is needed, if one were not inclined to commit to a tea. The resulting end product is of a high and pure quality. There are various threads going on around the internet, about the MHRB that is going aound. Everything from some places selling stem bark to others selling "bunk" bark. It is just best to find someone that has ordered bark and from what vendor. The simple fact is, when it comes down to it, there are not that many "sources" where the originating materials come from. I did hear that the spring is the best time to order . I have not had a problem with recieving any bunk bark... yet, and hopefully will not Az
Yea exactly, there are tons of little shops selling the shit, but not many wholesalers, and i know a few months ago must have been at leats one of the wholesalers was selling complete garbage.
Just so you know it is only called Ayahuasca if it contains Banisteriopsis caapi. The caapi vine itself is called Ayahuasca. Among tribes in the Amazon the vine itself is considered to be the most important part of the mix. The DMT is secondary.
Ayahuasca is a term that traditionaly meant a tea made with B. caapi vine and other plants such as P. viridis. It can also be used to describe a hallucinogenic brew of course. Shall we point to the word traditional. No, let's not, as it would be the past. Lets talk about the present. Words evolve over time and take on new definitions as the word evolves thru history. It happens all the time as this world progresses. The word or term Ayahuasca, has now evolved to encompass alot of other species of plants that are used amongst the teas. Alot of the dictionaries have already added second definitions. Erowid even excepts the evolution of the word. To say that someone who ingests a tea made from MHRB and Syrian Rue is NOT an Ayahuasca mixture, would sound absurd, to alot of people in this modern world. Erowid states... Outside the amazon basin, in cities around the world, ayahuasca is prepared with a wide variety of ingredients including pure chemicals (sometimes called 'pharmahuasca') or the root bark from mimosa hostilis/tenuiflora (sometimes called 'mimosahuasca'), and often the seeds of Perganum harmala (Syrian Rue) as a source of MAO-inhibiting harmala alkaloids. Evolution, progress, adaptation.... whatever you want to call what happened to the word Ayahuasca, has happened and is happening. A perfect example of how a written (or oral) word has and is evolving, along with us. But, of course, the traditionalists will crawl out of the woodwork to defend and justify the original meaning of the word, only to be beaten back by the evolution of change! Az
What I could never find (and is probably impossible) is this; can you smoke the dmt containing plants for effect? Or do you have to extract it?
I do believe you have to partake in the extraction in order to smoke the alkaloids. If you were to attempt to smoke material, there would be too much matter in order for you to get the amount of DMT that would be needed for an experience. Gosh, I could not imagine smoking any of the materials... they must taste something awful...... (goes to find an old pipe to load up a bowl of MHRB powder, Must try to know!) Ummm.... no ! YUCK! I do not think I will be trying that again!!! Az
