I wanted to start this thread to remind everyone of the little things that we all can do to make even just the smallest impact in the world....I by no means am an "Activist" but I try to do my part little by little until i decide to get more involved.......Today I talked my maw maw into getting a VEGNEWS subscription for her salon.....I also have a pro vegetarian banner on my myspace....lets not let this thread die out....we need to remind ourselves daily.

besides pro activism (protests, letter writing etc.) i always remember to keep my veg & peta magazines and then when im done reading them i donate them to local library so that maybe someone else will be interested in reading them as well. and every month i take some money out of my paycheck and buy donations for the local animal shelter....food, toys, cleaning agents, etc. and.....i always make sure to keep my eyes open for possible animal cruelty cases around my town. every little thing helps.

Umm, I fed them, pampered them, took care of Mr. Pigg's "old man issues," told them they were the prettiest piggies on the planet... Oh wait, you meant animals OTHER than my pets???

Today I worked on a lesson plan for my kids... we're starting a science unit on metamorphosis, and I'm working on squeezing as much protect-the-smaller-species emphasis in here as I can. I also got ahold of the director of children's events at our zoo & scheduled a behind-the-scenes tour for the kids in the reptile exhibit :)

Yes'm, they're guinea pigs. I just posted some pics of them in the pet forum! They're under "Meet the Boys."

No, cleaning out an impaction is no walk in the park. It is SMELLY and can be painful for the lil guy if you're not careful. But it's a small price to pay for happy, healthy little sweethearts.

I printed out lots of "Fish are Friends, Not Food" posters from peta2.org, and put some around campus, as well as on my window facing outside. It's a start!

PETA has a good goal, they just use the wrong means to get to the end that they are seeking......they have good resources though....I am not a member and won't be until they earn a better reputation, but I do regularly check their website and read their literature.

Well I talked an already vegetarian into going vegan if that counts :)

My friend, that is, and she said she already feels 100% better about herself, and her body.

I don't think PETA are so bad. I used to think PETA and Greenpeace were over the top gimps, but as time has gone on I realised to make the changes they want you have to bully people, as people are stupid for the most part and won't listen to you unless you force them.

The other day I noticed my two dogs were scratching at something in the corner in between my shed and the fence, so I went and had a look. There was a little bird behind a brick next to the fence, looking pretty scared, and the dogs were trying to get at it. I got the dogs away from there and picked the bird up, took it out the front of my house and let it go..
