It has had the ability to draw us together on so many levels yet isolate us in many many more ways. Keeping yourself holed up into your dwelling space searching for the answers is something people have been doing since the inception of self awareness. think about it. At a blink of an eye you can reference as much information as you want, distill it into your own personal preferences and take from it what you will. Yet does it really make a difference? Step away from the monitor for awhile and really think. One on One human contact is what we really require, nothing will ever replace that and we have failed our basic humanity if we let it dominate our destinys any further. There are only two forces that drive this machine. Fear and Love. I seriously doubt you can find love through these mediums. Take it to the streets.
This is true, but, there are those of us who can't get out of the house and this might be our only form of human contact for several hours of the day. I'm talking about myself. I have this artery condition, that won't let me go far from home most of the time. Thanks to technology, I can spend time communicating with you people. At least its one form of human interaction.
Realy sounnds like a personal judgement and sort of a statement against a behavior you disapprove of (or aprove of in moderation). I agree that one on one intimate contact is an important thing, but I'm married, work, spend time with my friends, lift with friends in my gym, and spend 2-5 hours at university each and every day. In a way this is my reflective time, intentionaly interacting with people in a different way.
Does anything that we do really make a difference? We're all going to end up dust and bones anyways. I say do what makes you happy while you're here. As long as it doesn't hurt anyone else I see nothing wrong with it.
