Apparently I've developed a problem, grinding and chomping my teeth in my sleep, REALLY hard. I didn't even know about it until my boyfriend pointed it out to me. I know that it's something that developed just recently over the past couple of years because #1) my ex never noticed and #2) my jaw hurts in the morning, and sometimes I'll wake myself up at night banging my teeth together. Does anyone know what this is? I feel like my teeth are going to get in really bad shape if I don't figure it out soon. And I've already found a crack in one of my back molars. Please help!!
The name for what you have is called Bruxism. It's usually stress related and yes it can damage your teeth. You need to make an appointment and explain what's going on to your dentist. He will most likely give you a mouth guard to wear while you sleep. The only real cure is to find out what is stressing you out. Is something bothering you?
i have tons of stress. loads of stress. I don't think there's a single thing in my life that ISN'T stressing me out right now. A mouth guard huh? Is that anything like a retainer or something? Ugh, I dread even going, because of this fucking crack in my back tooth and I just KNOW it's gonna have to be fixed. I think teeth are alot more trouble than their worth. Oh well.
i had to get a mouthguard for that same problem when i was little. But i never used it cuz it grossed me out....i would wake up gaggin and droolin. really nasty. I have permanent jaw problems now because of it, which affects my back and my feet. It's really fucked up. I don't do it even a quarter as often as i used to, but sometimes i wake myself up cuz of it.
yeah for sure, go to the dentist about that. you dont wanna mess up your mouth!! smoke some cheebas and relax girl!!
becuz of it, i have a missaligned jaw and that affects your neck, which affects your spinal cord, which affects your feet. Its messed up. its mostly my back more than anything thats messed up cuz of it. and the only way to fix it is a really expensive surgery...boourns.
