any one got any good methods for looensing up stiff muscles, I tried the inside hip adductor machine (the thigh master type thingy) at the gym yesterday for the first time. and maby I worked it way too hard becasue the muslces on iside of my thighs\groin are so stiff I cant freeking walk..shit this hurts

I have to work tomorrow to, man i hate self inflicted muscle stiffnes.

yeah I know its pathetic.. I can leg press 800lbs, but 40lb on the adductor and Im whining like little baby

It's not a normal movement for most people. Stretching, forcing yourself to go for a breif walk, annd perhaps a warm bath or tiger balm may help. Drinking water will also help.

Good luck in the future :)

ya its kind of weird really. you never see guys using the adductor machines. usually just the odd women dooing somthing like 5000 reps with no weight. It seems to have given that machine a bad image or somthing. but from the way im hobling around today I'd say its a valid exersise i'll keep doing

I alwasy get stiff muscles in that aria when I snow board, figured I'd try strengthening it a bit.

note.....Im too scared to use the balm down there. skin tends to be a bit sensitive in that region.

You do the adductor every night? You shouldn't be working the same muscles every day, they need time to rest. Work your lower body one day and your upper body another day, or do a full body workout, then take a day off and just do caridio or rest.

As far as this machine goes, I've heard mixed feelings on it. I actually like it and I don't do a sissy amount of weight and do like 5000 reps; I do the whole stack for both adductors and inductors to fail; I have pretty strong legs though. ;)

My mentor that I learned from hates this machine and thinks it is the stupidest invention. Basically he believes that squats are the answer to everything. And those who know me, know that I love squats (they are my favorite exercise).

Here is what I think though, if you feel it and it feels like you have worked your muscles, then it works for you and go ahead and use the machine. I mean I feel absolutely nothing when I use ab machines, so I pretty much think they are useless for me, but other people feel it and see a difference. Everyone is different I suppose.

As far as what to do for the pain, a nice hot soak helps, and just like everyone else said, stretching, rest, water and try some Advil.
