awesome eastern look at the way to live... you read it the first time and then you just keep reading it... it reads like a lot of mantras... make sure you have the right translation though (i prefer stephen michell) because some are skewed.... anyone else read this?... i borrowed it for the first time from my friendds dad who is a nutty philosophy professor... peace
one of the parts that stand out to me of the tao teh ching, was (as i remember it) : 'bend and you will be whole, curl and you will be straight'
i have about three different versions of it, i think. i got a very good one and cut out some of my favorite parts from an older one, and put them on my wall. i love it. it's one of those things i would have to keep with me if i decided to get rid of all of my stuff . you can read a part once, and think you understand it, but every time you uncover another layer of it's meaning. it's amazing.
I recently bought the Shambala Dragon edition of this book. It is a more traditional translation than some of the others that I have seen. Definitely loved it. Everyone should read the Tao.
Its a good companion to the I Ching. Chuang Tzu wrote another taoist book, but I forget its name. It is also a good book to read.
I found a quote from the Tao Te Ching on cannabis.com. I looked it up, and I started reading, and instantly fell in love.
The Tao Te Ching is extremely healthy for someone to emmerse themselves in I always gotta keep a copy too
