Thats great, she sounds like a strong person. For some all it takes is admitting that its a dead animal they are eating.

It is also annoying when someone says "Look its a cute fluffy little animal" (while waving a burger or whatever under my nose). This is irritating only because the person believes I will actually be upset by this :). Another variation: "I bet her name was Daisy and she had big brown eyes". Leave the veggies alone, we don't make fun of your eating habits!! :).

"If we dont eat the animals we eat they will overpopulate, like any animal whos predator goes away"

Ignoring the fact that our raising of these forcefully overpopulates them, and puts them in worse conditions that an overpopulated specis would suffer anyway.

Say what I say to those smartasses:

"So far, there is no scientific proof that plants have a central nervous system or brain, therefore lacking the ability to feel physical pain. Almost all scientists, veterinarians, and biologists will say that animals have both and feel pain as much as or even more than humans."
If you can remember all that, you're golden;):p

That's not annoying, that's just funny in an ironic pitying way. So last laugh goes to me.

You can talk about what you want in your little bit of cyberspace and we'll keep out of your way. And vice versa.

I've heard many annoying comments from people who eat meat. After all, I'm practically surrounded by idiots who love the stuff. Let's see... my brothers and their friends have a blast badmouthing me. For example... almost everday last year in school, this guy in my class would say something like, "Hey, how about we go out to a steakhouse?" or something stupid like that. Another guy in that class informed me that I am going to die early because I don't eat meat. I pity that poor fool...

Recently, at work, I explained to my friend that I am a vegan. He couldn't understand how I could do such a thing, or what I would eat then. Ack, what's wrong with kids these days?

I don't actually know... the brains kind of famous for it because of the Papua new guinea tribes in which the women would eat brains to help their fertility, but whether it's restricted to the brain is a big ???
If the person your eating did not have Creutzfield-Jacob, maybe eating just their leg or something would be harmless (if icky)
If the person you are eating had it already--which is likely in a culture of brain eaters-- then eating any part of them would give you the disease, as it is transmitted via blood to blood contact, so would be in every part of their system.
in britain, CJD was transmitted from cows to humans as humans ate the flesh of cows who had been fed other cows. it could then be transmitted from human to human even through blood tranfusions, as their was no blood screening process for it.

today's useless facts were brought to you by the letter's D and V, and the number 8.

My sister today: "You're going to die now"
    Me: No, I won't...
Sister: Yes. Because you'll have no protien...
Me: What do you call soy, nuts, beans, lentils, and stuff like that...
    Sister: Nuts don't have protien
    Me: Yes they do...
Sister: Well, its still not enough...so you're gonna die...

::sigh:: They brainwash 'em at a young age don't they...she's only 12....

Also.... (from my mom): "Why don't you just eat fish? It isn't meat..."

Yeah...says the Catholic church...never understood that one...

*sigh* how depressing, i told my girlfriend i was CONSIDERING becoming a vegitarian and she right off started on this "protein is necessary for a balanced diet" so i copy and pasted a chart of vegitarian foods with alot of protein and she just acted like she didnt care, seriously how can someone who's normally so rational be so immature and ignorant about something like this

God gave us dominion over animals, dominion is not tyranny. The queen of England has dominion over her people, it's to watch over them. I'm sure God doesn't want his creatures locked in tiny pens on factory farms and beaten/abused/neglected then have them hung upside down, throats slit, and bbleed to death. Anyway, that's what I already posted, but I'll say it again for you. And under NO circumstances does your body need meat (especially with all the hormoones injected into cows and chickens and pigs nowadays. It's also true that meat causes cancer, obesity, impotence, clogged arteries, heart disease,etc.).

    I'm pretty sure that's intentional :)

I tend to say omni, as technically that's what they are.
