Ok I'm going to die sooner than later if I keep eating the way I do. Me and my family probably eat out 10 times a week or more. Good ol jack in the box, or Pizza, or chineese. Its crazy and I try to voice my opinion that its a waste of money and its going to kill us, so she says I work nights, and if you want to eat something else make dinner while your home, this only lasts for about 3 days as everyone is sick of vegitable stirfry (olive oil) and chicken... I need to know what else is healthy and can be prepared by a non-chef, I mean I'm pretty good at cooking and I love spices but I guess I need a healthy cook book with meals that have low prep times or something. Anyway Just writing this is a step in the right direction I just need your opinions on dishes I can create that TASTE GOOD! You have to understand these people are hooked on fast food and get vegitabled out is very easy for them, so I need to find dishes that have different flavors... I dunno, I'll hand over the mic, what do you suggest......

    Mike...

    burritos!
tortillas, beans, lettuce, veggies (onions, tomatoes, peppers, olives, etc), cheese/sour cream, salsa, avacados...just pick things that sound good and wrap em in a tortilla.

chicken salad, homemad pizzas with pretty much any healthy topping, homemade burgers are actually suprisingly healthy too
just get some meat, make a salad, and cook some potato or pumpkin or something and you have a good, healthy meal

I got something you could make.

Get a piece of cooked chicken and cut it into cubes. Then fry some onions&peppers up. After there heated up throw the chicken in heat that up, and then throw it on a whole wheat wrap with some hot sauce. HMmmmmmm its healthy

Mike, I recentally went on an organic diet, and first off, I don't like tofurkey. It made me puke. So I'm not going to tell you to quit eating meat. Besides, if you can grow your own cow, and kill it too, or just buy organic meat, your good.

Have you tried wheat spaghetti? That's actually pretty good if you can find a recipe to make your own spaghetti sauce... don't get the vegetarian can crap though, that stuff is NASTAY. I like Annies' organic macaroni & cheese, like the velveeta but a few cents more, but it's actually BETTER, and it tastes good, and it only takes about ten minutes to make.

Blue chips are pretty good, I love those, and to make your own organic salsa BEFORE dinner.. yum.
    Recipe--
    ¼ white onion
    5 little tomatoes
    juice from ½ lime
3 cloves garlic all thin chopped like
    1-3 jalapeno peppers
Cilantro (i just put as much as I want in)
    3 oz tomato paste
salt and pepper if you want
some people like to put an avacado in, but I don't

One more thing, those Amy's Organic foods are really good. [IMG] Gotta love them. I'd stick with the pizzas though.
But if you're concerned about weight, I would say Green Tea Sodas... they have antioxidents in them, I'm not sure if it helps or not but the peach ones I like.

    Enjoy.. I'm learning.

    bbq stir fry

ok butter up some tin foil then put all this stuff on it.

    1 onion sliced
    several cut up carots
    1 cut green pepper
    cut up brokally
    cut up collyflower

then sprinkle on some lawrys seasoned salt, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper. then wrap it up and cook it on bbq for 20 minutes

I'd sugest serving it with with baked potatoes and a steak.

I recommend The McDougall Quick & Easy Cookbook if you are truly serious about eating healthy.
