Who else digs her big time? I worship this woman big time...any other followers? I love her with Big Brother the most I think, although Pearl was SUCH an awsome record... I Need A Man To Love Combination Of The Two Summertime Peice Of My Heart Flower In The Sun Try (Just A Little Bit Harder) One Good Man Little Girl Blue Cry Baby Half Moon Me And Bobby Mcgee Mercedes Benz Tell Mama Those are a portion of some of my favorites...how bout you? Also...anyone know anywhere I could find some interveiws with her???
i was at a party for a local artist in Prescott, Az back in 1996 and met her brother. Her parents lived there. He had a two year old daughter that looked and acted like a reincarnation of her. (I remember she was on the floor rolling around rather passionately!) She had this amazing long thick auburn hair and freckles. He is a famous glass artist btw. Very nice person. Now that i think about it, this means, this child is about 12 now! About the same age i was when i started listening to her back in San Diego when she first came out. Maybe she will appear on the music scene one fine day.(Also, for whatever it's worth, my sister Dianes best buddie, Tom Wilkes did her album cover art for Pearl, among others like Tommy and a bunch of the Beatles stuff, but i digress...) "...you know you got it, if it makes you feel good..."
Well thats a damn good blue jay in my opinion.... Keanua Otter that is so cool...ty for posting! Freaky about their daughter, I wonder how she looks now and if she'll persue music...
Gotta love some Janis. For me, the earlier the better, her voice is so unmistakeable. She put so much feeling into her music, and really sings from the soul. Not to mention her tunes are pretty complex from the band aspect too. Bubblegum it aint - its true electric blues!
thats very true..I actually think Im starting to like more of the Big Brother stuff... thanks for all the posts
yeah, i started listening to her stuff last year..un-beleivable i read her biography a while ago..she had such an exciting life haha
Ive always said that when janis sings, a person can see into her soul. Some folks like it, some folks dont, but there is a feeling from her music that can touch a person. There isnt much explaining it, but there isnt much denying it either.
Agreed with all of you guys...awesome stories. Thanks for posting...Yah I read that book too...pretty cool
the first record i got was janis. i like her, i wouldnt go so far to say shes a godess or anything but shes good. a lot of singers say that you can feel their music but with janis you really could, you could feel her pain and suffering. she had a sad life and you know that when you hear her.
