i was at a party for a local artist in Prescott, Az back in 1996 and met her brother. Her parents lived there. He had a two year old daughter that looked and acted like a reincarnation of her. (I remember she was on the floor rolling around rather passionately!) She had this amazing long thick auburn hair and freckles. He is a famous glass artist btw. Very nice person. Now that i think about it, this means, this child is about 12 now! About the same age i was when i started listening to her back in San Diego when she first came out. Maybe she will appear on the music scene one fine day.(Also, for whatever it's worth, my sister Dianes best buddie, Tom Wilkes did her album cover art for Pearl, among others like Tommy and a bunch of the Beatles stuff, but i digress...)

I think she sounds rather like a blue jay myself.

    Gotta love some Janis.

For me, the earlier the better, her voice is so unmistakeable. She put so much feeling into her music, and really sings from the soul.

Not to mention her tunes are pretty complex from the band aspect too. Bubblegum it aint - its true electric blues!

Ive always said that when janis sings, a person can see into her soul.

Some folks like it, some folks dont, but there is a feeling from her music that can touch a person. There isnt much explaining it, but there isnt much denying it either.

the first record i got was janis. i like her, i wouldnt go so far to say shes a godess or anything but shes good. a lot of singers say that you can feel their music but with janis you really could, you could feel her pain and suffering. she had a sad life and you know that when you hear her.
