I joined hipforums because....

...because I loved how open everyone here was about everything. I've enjoyed being the same since I joined. But feeling free to talk openly about such normally taboo subjects as sex and masturbation comes at a price of getting propositional PMs a couple of times a week from random users whose names I haven't even glimpsed here before.

I really like meeting new people and if it's through a PM that's fine, but does anyone else tire of the offers of cybersex and webcam action?

 

OMG yes.. I soooo know what you mean.. it's constant that I get PMs like that.. annoys the hell out of me..

I joined the hipforums because I was about to be permanently banned from the RS forums and I was addicted to forums. I found these forums in some random google search and when I decided to leave the RS forums (a total sess poll of anti social 14 year olds and authoritarian mods that want everything to have a uniquie purpose [meaning no spam, or multiple threads, or .... fun] and they tried to keep everything below G rated, and you couldn't say something that is non vulgar and offensive to nobody otherwise you got banned) the mods they had weren't paid mods or adults even. They were just selected by the game's staff because of their "Character", or because the staff found they would help enforce their crazy rules.

On those forums (which I spent a huge amount of time), I wasn't allowed to talk about anything, politics, religion, death, suicide, drugs, and a whole bunch of other stuff.

They were the worst forums ever, but I was addicted. So I just shifted my addiction. Its like when they switch you from heroin to something else, thats what I am doing.

The worst part was all the mod suck ups that would point out everything I said was agianst some stupid rule.

If I posted this in those forums, they would ban me. I've quit playing the actualy game too, because it sucks. I should go find their Code of Conduct and post in on here.

 

you opted to show your girlie face and probly have info on your profile that doesnt need to be there .....ive never had a wierd p m in 3 years .....if your just here to talk , then it shouldnt matter . not having a pretty girls face peering out may just lead to less perverts asking you silly things .......im noy saying its right to pester someone . just pointing out why they do so .

I've had some weird ones myself.

 

When I had photos of myself, I got them.
Got rid of the photos and no more creepy PM's.
Solution simple if you really dont want them.

 

In response to the topic--which is quite good by the way--I have to admit that I enjoy running my mouth about sex to anyone that will listen. I like writing things that I know will turn guys on (I know that's bad but I'm being honest). But some of the solicitations I've received are a little over the top even for my promiscuous demeanor.

 

Hon, I went through this too. To the point, I stopped going to the Love&Sex forums.

Basically, manko is right. As a young woman with your photo prevalent, talking about sex, masturbation, and the like, you are bound to be propositioned by a fair few of the shallow end of the forumer pool. All you can do though, is ignore them. Don't have your email address on your profile, and don't answer skeezy PMs. And that should do the trick.

Personally I think its unwise to say something in a private message that you wouldn't say in public to someone you don't really know much about.Depends what it is they wanna say and how often they wanna say it - if it's something youre ok with then thats..ok!.There's that other thread over there somwhere about 'who,on this forum would you like to...' and thats kind of ok...d'ya think?...cos it's there for everyone to see.I dunno - some people are predatory,some are politely predatory,some are wet fish and some are just animals.Its a bit like text messaging.These days if I text someone to go out - once - and they don't reply,then I don't bother again.It's like - ok - I'll go and do something less boring instead.I've recieved some p m's on here and so far they've all been really welcome - but women are from Venus,Men are from Mars etc etc.Though I did actually get stalked by a scarey girl once - she wasn't getting the hint and moved close to my house and got a job where I worked and then beat somebody up and was submitted into a psychiatric ward...

Thats about it. Lottsa idiots just make an assumption because you are comfortable with your sexuality that you would be someone that might wanna play with them. I think alot of those types also play the numbers game...make contact with alot of people and hopefully find a couple that respond the way they want. I know there was a chick(?) that pm'd me and every other chick on the same thread doing just that.

I have become interested in the basic hippy culture, in hitchiking/backpacking, in nature, in smoking lots of pot, and in freedom, and I've always been a forum addict. Recently I discovered that my current forum was oppressive, and full of people that made me feel dysfunctional and disliked, so I went in search of a new one. I couldn't have found a more satisfactory forum than this one.

 

Notice this forum has less nonsense and insults and the insane mod forums even though it is so laid back?

 

Yeah dude, I know... anytime people start arguing on here, seconds later they are saying "no hard feelings, man... I didn't mean anything by it" and on most other places, even tightly modded places, you never hear that--all you hear is "You noob, I'll kill you, I'm smarter then you, shut up!" and never any respect for each other. it sucks.

 

This seems to be consistent in most cases. Easy drug laws (such as in the netherlands), and whatever where if they allow it, its not as big a problem as it is when they are strict about it. I think we should be more strict on some things (like people who kill people) and less strict on other things (like legalize marijuana). You get more time for robbing a bank than killing somebody. Did you know that?

 

while i am quite comfortable talking about sex on the boards or with a person ,face to face ..cybersex has never been my forte ..........stalking either ..but if there is something you need to discuss with someone who has been around a long time ,feel free ....or any other subject for that matter ..as a friend ..........
