Here's one for you. This is what I honestly believe. There is a God, for some people, and there is no God for others. God exists in some individual realities, but not all. That is my guess as to why some people have seen or experienced numerous paranormal events, while others have never seen a single one. If it is presumptuous to foist ones own beliefs onto others, then I feel we must accept their beliefs as equally valid to our own. I do. In theory, individuals' realities are all unique, so it then becomes a question of just how unique. Accepting others beliefs is also quite respectful, shows humility, equality, and unconditional love, besides being logical.
I know that it hasn't had any noticeable effect on my sleep patterns. What is it about it that you assumed might help me sleep? If you, for example, were a staunch atheist, with no doubt whatsoever that you were right, not just for yourself but for everyone else, hypothetically speaking of course, well then would that supreme self confidence help you sleep?
BlackGuard, you know I respect you, but I think the whole "subjective God" thing is a cop-out. And could also be dangerous as a "God" who appears to you could ask you to "dismiss the sinner" of the guy who believed in the "other God", etc..etc. It's a slippery slope into religious wars, I think. Thus, I feel it is better to recognize that if "God" exists "he/she/it" has to be "objective" and since there is no objective evidence shown since the dawn of time, isn't it more reasonable to disregard it until...?
My views on the whole deal is if God exist "he/she/it" could prove itself when ever it saw fit. I espcially don't recall that the Judo-Xian God ever need a human to prove his existance. Its either HEY I'M GOD BOOYA BABY or If you want me YOU'LL find me. Not a "Hey Frank prove my existince to so and so, you know go paint a rock blue or find my face in a taco" With God it was hmmm I'll use your fleshy meat suit to part the seas that'll get um. I'm willing to stake my life on the fact that if more christians stopped relying on well placed words and used better placed actions more people would come to visit the church *where it was fellowship not dictatorship* just because they see how postive and how heart felt these people are. If god wants me to prove his existince with objective fact he'd go all Elijah and Elisha on me. Jesus walked softly and carried a big whooping stick of postive action.
Acutly no its not. I belive that I by no way can prove the existince of God. So by me saying "I can't prove God" is simply showing that I'm not in denial that I'm going to hell by admiting I can't prove God with objective fact. Its impossible and I think everyone no matter what they belive deep inside admits they can't
