i am doing a music project about 1960s rock n roll in general and it dosent do it justice to look up it on Google can you give me some history on it since some in this forums were there during this time.
The Doors baby! Janis Joplin. Jimi Hendrix. Google really isn't a bad idea. "sixties music" or "Rock n' roll in the 60's."
Here's a good start: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1960s_Music_Groups * 13th Floor Elevators * The Animals * The Band * The Beach Boys * The Beatles * Buffalo Springfield * The Byrds * Cream * Creedence Clearwater Revival * Crosby, Stills & Nash (and Young) * The Doors * Grateful Dead * The Guess Who * Jefferson Airplane * The Kinks * The Lovin' Spoonful * The Moody Blues * Procol Harum * The Rolling Stones * Steppenwolf * Stillwater * Strawberry Alarm Clock * The United States of America * Vanilla Fudge * The Velvet Underground * The Who * The Yardbirds * The Youngbloods Just a small sampling. There are other groups on this web page that are more early 60's and a some that are a little more pop, but still made some great music. It was a time of experimentation and the musicians had a lot of creative control they haven't had since the 70's.
