Where can I find free newer ebooks? I know Project Gutenberg and torrent sites have them, but I can never find new books I want to read. I refuse to buy a book I've never read (I may not like it and they're SO expensive!). New or unusual books are hard to find at libraries and I never get them back on time. Anybody?

Well, reading the thread title I was going to suggest Project Gutenberg but seems like you're already on top of things.

The reason P. G. exists is because the copyrights on those works have expired. Copyright exists so that artists/writers can protect their right to make money on their work. I've never heard of a professional writer that didn't want to make money, so you're probably going to have a hard time finding anyone who has freely forfeited their rights and allows their work to be distributed for free.

And if you're looking for a... how shall we say this... less than reputable source, well, all the people who are willing to do that sort of thing fare better with DVD's than books. If you're ever looking for some really really cheap DVD's though, go to Mexico.

Anyway welcome to capitalism, enjoy your stay, the ice machine is on the 3rd floor and if you need fresh linens or towels dial 9 for room service.
