Just curious. I am personally VERY selective about what I buy (trying to patronize only the natural/fair trade places and all). But I'm guilty of giving more consideration to products whose commercials involved bare feet! Silly, I know. But I will be first to admit: a cute barefoot girl (or a cute barefoot boy) has a decent chance of selling me anything What about you?
Heck yea! I'm with you, Alexandra. I love barefeet PERIOD! The best way for any advertiser to get my attention is to show off a nice set of naked feet wheather it may be for cars, computers, stores, soft drinks, you name it. Ahh, the power of advertising! Show me some bare feet and soles!
I see very few commercials -don't own a television and I rarely notice the ads and banners in the newspaper & on websites... but bare feet do catch my attention and I'll at least check out what the ad is for... so yes it works.
It depends on the product for me I guess. But yeah, putting bare feet in commercials, print ads, etc. will definitely bring the ad to my attention. I actually sit through commercials on TV in the hopes of spotting some feet, and even when I tape shows and and fast-forwarding or rewinding through the commercials, I will stop and go back to ads if I catch even a glimpse of a possibility of there being feet in an ad. There have certainly been some classic feet in commercials. I think the first time I noticed I had a foot fetish was as a result of a particular Dial soap commercial that had a very nice beautiful close-up of a woman's bare foot and I would always rush into the room if I heard it going on the TV. :&
One of my most memorable commercials involving feet was for a particular brand of foot spray. There was this woman who posed as a housewife and while during the middle of the night would give each members of the house a dose of the foot spray. She visits the room of her sleeping daughter, pulls away the covers, exposes the teenager's bare soles and proceeds to spray her feet. You would see her toes wiggle and hear a little giggling from the other end of the bed. The mother then returns to her own bedroom and beings to spay her own bare feet. Needless to say, that was one great commercial!
I don't watch enough TV to notice any bare feet, but whenever I see it in print or online, it gets my attention! Fast. And legs. But I still don't think it happens often enough to matter, to get me to buy something. I'll have to pay more attention from now on!
There's a recent commercial for an after shower body oil. I can't remember the name of the product, but the commercial shows a lady in the shower and an eventual foot, sole shot. I love that commercial. Have you seen the commercial for the drug that relieves leg anxiety? All the of the women in the commercial are barefoot, however, all of the men (only 2) are not. Why?
