    Hi !
I was wondering... hippies don't hate, okay but what about war-makers, racists, skinheads and criminals.. you can't just ignore them !
I mean imagine a member of your familly gets killed by a madman (hope it won't happen though!).. how are you going to react ? you can't just ignore the killer and say : well, it's okay, it was just a relative and love him for what he is ! It's nonesense !
And what about George Bush, killing thousands of people during his stupid wars...
I was wondering how you would react in these situations.
And give me some advice ^^

    Hippies rule ! (eventhough I don't think I am one ^^)

you have to love your enemies, that's the only way you can ever be at peace.

it sounds "unrealistic" to say if someone came into my house and killed my sister i would love him, but i would try my absolute hardest to face it without anger. i would focus on what he must be feeling, and feel sympathy for him that he got to that point.

i personally feel george bush shouldn't be our president, he definately doesn't do things the way i would. but i love him because he is trying his hardest to accomplish whatever it is he believes in, and it's a job that takes a lot of hard work and courage. i'm sure it's definately VERY challenging, maybe the hardest thing to do in the world. and if he weren't in office, someone even worse could be.

I'd say it's human nature to hate some stuff. I mean we could try and repress our hateful emotions, but we can't stop them from being there. Sorry I can't help, it's got me stumped 'n all :(

Yea, I feel you. It;s hard to know what to do in those types of situations. When it comes to Bush: when you protest him, you are doing it for a change, a change that is better for millions of people. When it comes to personal things, if you are religious or if you want to stick to hippyness, you really should forgive people. Be wise, and dont let them do things like that to you, but still you have to love em, or they'll keep on with their ways. Anyhoo it's not like holding a grudge will do anybody any good. Oh, and arent you gunna respect the late Lennon? "All you need is love", he was such a genious, why would anyone not? That's my best advise! Peace.

I say, take the ACLU aproach. People have free speech. They can say whatever they want about what they believe in. Its when they act on those that we have to do somthing. There was a huge KKK rally/parade in indiana or somthing and people where saying to the ACLU 'What are you gonna do about this?' and stuff. Thier reply was just that, they have freedom of thought and speech, but that step of action is when we come in!
