if you're almost 17, just wait until you actually are 17. the anticipation will make it oh so much better too

If the AOC is 16, then, no, technically speaking, no one can charge him for "statutory" rape, unless you press rape charge against him yourself(...in that case, it'll just be a rape charge, rather than "statutory rape"). Just look into it further just to be on the safe side.

    Good luck.

Not if YOU force rape on HIM. ;)

I mean, if someone comes and claim statutory rape just admit that YOU were raping him. :sunglasse

I live in ohio also. Pretty much near you. This is the Statuatory Rape law for ohio.

Statutory rape. (a) Statutory rape is sexual penetration of a
victim by the defendant or of the defendant by the victim when the victim
is at least thirteen (13) but less than eighteen (18) years of age and the
defendant is at least four (4) years older than the victim.

In other words, yes! She can charge him as long as your under 18 and he is 4 years older than you.

i agree. i dated a guy that was 21 when I was 17. i was only a few months from 18 when we met, but it was still a big deal. but I talked to my parents about it, and I had him come over to the house a lot to be around my parents. They saw what he was like, and that he wasn't all over me 24/7 and they ended up being ok with our relationship. we didn't actually have sex til i was 18 just to be on the safe side of things, but I'm pretty sure it would have been fine if we had and someone found out. I recommend doing the same kinda thing.

I used to date a guy that was 23, I am 17. I thought that my 'rents would be shitty about it. They weren't. Anyways...the cops told him that as long as there isn't a 5 year difference it's all good.

well unless you let someone catch you in the act, who can prove you were actually having sex? even if your mom walked in on you two fucking, unless she gets some evidence of it, they can't really prosecute him.

I'd like to know where you're getting your information from. From the sources that I've located, your claim seems to be in error.

    (A) No person who is eighteen years of age or older shall engage in sexual conduct with another, who is not the spouse of the offender, when the offender knows the other person is thirteen years of age or older but less than sixteen years of age, or the offender is reckless in that regard.

    Source: http://www.ageofconsent.com/ohio.htm
Also, every other website that I've located seems to back up this claim.

my bf's ten years older than me, and we met about 2 weeks before my 18th birthday. Luckily, for us it wasn't an issue - my parents are cool, his parents are non-existant, and anyway, at that point in my life I'd been on my own a long time (in fact I met him in New York after hitchhiking there by myself from Oregon)
I guess you can count it as extra luck even beyond that, since I couldn't wait to jump his bones the night we met!

Ok, I know exactly what you mean. The guy I used to date was a fugative, do you think my 'rents approved of that?? Hell no. Pretty much...all you can do...unless there be 5 years difference in age (where I live) is be together. If you like him then fuck what your mom says.

But, from my experience on guys...your mom is ususally right about then. As crazy as it might sound, it's true. My mom said my ex was a piece of shit...well...like 2 months later I caught him cheating on me. WHAT A PIECE OF SHIT! :$

    Anyways, do what you want.

Jesus youre living in a prison. 18 years old? What about all the mature, responisble 16 and 17 year olds, and the innocent older men who have feelings for them? Im almost 18, and where i live i can have sex with whoever the hell i want and have been able to for 2 years. How can you be "taking advantage" of a consent-giving adult? I cant stand needlessly tight laws like that.
Its like the whole "you must be 21 years old before you can drink alcohol" thing, which always makes me first laugh at its ridiculousness, then feel a deep sadness for all the adults being kept under tight control unnecessarily.

I believe that this claim is in error as I mentioned above.
    http://www.ageofconsent.com/ohio.htm
Nevertheless, you are correct to say that laws regulating sexual conduct and alcohol consumption are more stringent in the States than they are in most places in Europe. About a dozen states have an Age of Consent for sexual activity set at eighteen, one of which is California. About half a dozen or so draw the line at seventeen. Most states are sixteen.
    http://www.ageofconsent.com/ageofconsent.htm
Many Americans have a tendency to be quite puritannical when it comes to certain aspects of personal conduct. Many parents fear that their kids will try alcohol as they feel that the end result will be alcoholism. They deny that their kids are sexual beings. Hence, the draconian laws that prevail here.
