Hi guys come back today and am absolutely shattered but worth it! Visited 2 coffe shops. De Kroon and Centraal. Centraal was the better of the two just how we expected too! I was the only girl in there so that was a bunus (hee hee not really) Was asked if we wanted to buy some charlie by two men and who didnt leave us alone so we hid in a shop and they carried on walking..... Meals were quite expensive, most of the things were but we expected that. And we posted some home so will let you know if it arrives! My partner heard a song in the coffe shop it was brill but we dont know what its called we are pretty sure its love generation or something like that? Anyone know? Would go again but for longer than 1 day as was sooooooo tired after all the travelling but a very beautiful city too! Amy
Glad you had a good one. Hope you find out what song it was, lol. I had the same thing happen to me once. I was in coffeeshop 222 about 3 years ago, heard some intense trance music so asked the dealer what it was and he pointed me to a back-street record shop where I managed to get a copy for myself. Great stuff.
Lol we have found the songnow its.... bob sinclair love generation remix.... it took ages to find it we were so sure it was bob marley lmao!! Was a bit scary walking about at night, also had a begger follow us asking for money and we kept walking then he went to the next sucker ! I couldnt belive that the coffee shops let you smoke your own weed I didnt know that! Im not a smoker but tried some of my partners and was giggling for ages we were laughing so much hee hee and you know the pre rolled joints? They were sooo strong I thought they were gonan be shite. I would go again defo
Yes, most people who go want to keep going back, I'm addicted. Bet you wish you were there still or went for longer or even planning your next visit. lol.
Yep Id have liked to stay longer as we left the sat morning at 9.46 and arrived 5.30pm their time and stayed that night and left at 1.29pm the following day so we were mad to only stay one day but couldnt afford no longer than that at the moment, 3 nights would have been good.. Yes your right we are planning another one now for sometime in the summer, as its always the same price on the ferry we have this deal thing but with more of us this time and when its warmer hee hee....it was f f f freeeeeeeeeeezing cold! where abouts are you from in the uk?
I'm from Somerset and very luckily only 45mins flying time away from A'dam, courtesy of cheap Easy Jet from my local airport, but Heathrow can be fun too. How long does a ferry take.? I take it you've still got to get a coach or train to the centre of Amsterdam, does it cost much to travel that way for you. Anyway, summer time in A'dam is great being able to walk around in a T'shirt and sunglasses, etc, but expect higher prices, longer queues and the overall city being loads busier, I tend to prefer going off season now as a result, purely out of personal choice but it's always fun no matter what time of the year. Have another good one ''simmo'' I guarantee you'll have a blast in summer, I did, especially when you hire a bike and venture away from the centre, which has got to be done in my books.
Thanks Well the ferry is £50 return thats including transfers (train to the harwich port) and train from the hook to amsterdam) all insluded so bargain i say!!! its 31/2 hr boat trip but loads to do on ferry cinemas, burger bars etc.... Well when we get off at centraal station we only have to walk 2 mins to whwre we stayed but might stay in botel next time! When are you next going? Amy
20 days left and counting. Can't wait. After Xmas and New Years celebrations have long gone it's usually fairly glum and boring this time of the year so with A'dam already booked and paid for weeks ago I always go around mid-Feb. The ferry sounds like it's a laugh especially if it's more convenient for you and having stuff to do on the boat adds to the fun like the bars, although flying is damn cheap as well with these UK budget airlines, think I only paid around £45 myself but no sooner you take off your landing 4 metres below sea level at Schiphol airport and then it's only 20 mins by train to Central Station. But if you live near the port then I can see your point going that way, with the added bonus of being able to smoke on deck too walking around in a haze after the holiday. lol
I cant belive it just saw some real cheap flights by the easy jet you said about i thought they were really expensive I think I will go by plane next time lmao My partners mate and gf are going in feb 23rd i think.........so if you see a bloke who looks like eminem with baggy jeans and a cap on with a blonde bird say hi lol he will be in his element there im sure!! hope you have a good one!
