I had a dream last night that I was staying at someone's house. I went upstairs, and he had a cupboard, and it was locked. But something was inside, and it was trying to get out. I ran downstairs and told them(an older man was with him) that something was upstairs, and they ignored me and said it was nothing. I went back upstairs, while noticing several eerie paintings on the wall, the only one i could remember was a warped Mona Lisa, who's eyes were following me. Anyways, it was still trying to get out, so I went back downstairs and told them. The younger man came up with me, and I stayed a little bit behind. I looked at his face, it went completely pale. He dissappeared. I got really scared, then I heard someone say something about a verizon wireless service, and for some reason, I became calm. Then I heard a devilish scream and ran out of the house, but for some reason I couldn't run fast and kept slowing down. I turned around, and there a shadowy figure whose face I couldn't make out yelling "I'm Gonna Fucking Kill You Kid!" in a sadisticly happy voice. It appeared that I was moving backwards at this point, right into his grasp, and then I woke up in a cold sweat.

I'm very paranoid about having nightmares, I've figured out that I dream about my subconcious, and whatever I think about before I go to sleep I'm definitely not going to dream about, so though it sounds crazy I try to think about some of the scarier and more unpleasant things from my life right before bed. It works.

Yeah, I'm pretty fucked in the head.

It sounds like you need to quit feeding your mind scary shit. Do you watch a lot of horror movies?

What really creeps me out is true crime stuff, like the shit they show on court tv.

I don't think you know what you're talking about. I happen to be going through stress, depression, things of that sort which I credit my current mental state too more than the couple grams of weed I smoke each week, and the dose of adderall I pop every couple of months.

No, I don't watch many horror movies, they aren't my thing, they usually induce nightmares and things of the such. I watch a lot of war movies, never had any kind of dream about war, though.

Now that I think about it, the setting in my dream was familiar to the mansion in the game Resident Evil. I used to play that game a lot, but I haven't for a few months. It was probbaly floating around in my subconcious.

Yeah. Its loses its touch after a few plays, though.

Especially when the chickens turn into zombies and eat you.

Zombies are bastards. They die, but they don't die, and they eat your brains.

You might try this solution: don't watch TV (or play games, or listen to the news, or read a newspaper or magazine, or read a scarey book) for exactly one hour before going to bed. In fact, it is best if you do absolutely nothing for one hour, with the exception of doing something creative, like washing the dishes, ironing clothes, vacuuming the carpet, washing the toilet or the bathtub. Take a bath before going to bed to relax the body. Read spiritually uplifting books before going to bed. And for Heaven's sake don't watch tv in the bedroom.

The only thing I have in my bedroom is a lamp and a bed. The lamp is has a dimmer on it so that when I awake I do not turn it on "full blast"; the alarm clock goes off in another room.

i have nightmares every single day. I'm used to them, and most of the time they
involve dead people, blood, monsters, aliens or serial killers.
