Curious to know what everyone refers to for those 6" or 12" sandwiches. Subs, heroes, hoagies, grinders, or something else entirely? Yup, another random question...
when i was a carney the grinder wagon outta wisconsin would always kick down there leftovers to us for 2/3rds off an they still make my mouth water thinkin bout them,, so i voted grinder..
and yep, hhb was right. grinders are different i think they go in the oven and there is something else diff. bout them but im tired and my brain is fried and i forget
either a six inch or foot long bread roll, sliced in half, and filled with some sort of sandwhich filling. For instance they will take something similar to a loaf of bread, slice it in half along the side and fill it with meatballs and cheese. That is called a meatball sub, oh wise one.................
it's a sub around here. i think putting my mouth on something called a grinder would feel too much like i was cheating on my girlfriend..
I call them subs, and the only kind of sub that I really like is with lettuce and cheese, no meat. My husband thinks that's just crazy.
Well I love Romaine, but most sub places that I've been to don't offer that, so I have to resort to shredded Iceburg. But if I'm making my own sub at home, it definitely has Romaine on it. I also forgot to add that I love hot peppers on my cheese and lettuce subs as well. I can't believe I forgot to add that! I LOVE peppers!
