i believe there is a difference between "the family" and the Rainbow Family. i don't really know but there might be some correlation. i've heard people say that members of "the family" used to tour with the dead... sort of a spinoff of the old kesey/owsley stanley days. maybe theyre the same, but we've all heard the thumbprint stories.
by family i assume you mean gd family. people like owsley are gd family, people who lived at 710 with them, people who toured with them etc. They're not really in the business anymore FWIU they started dropping out of the scene in the 80s when the dick eating agency caught on, and then when jerry left this plane i just assume all of them moved to the hills of the northwest. I think some of them came out for 40th anniversary past summer though, there were some fuckin dank hits around everywhere all of a sudden.
