shpongle-psychedelic ambient. Each song is a bit slow to get started but they do suck you in completely.

if ya wanna go all out, i'd suggest getting four cd players and finding a copy of the flaming lips "zaireeka" if ya can. that music makes ya feel like your tripping when your not, so i cant imagine what it would be like when you are!

other then that, i would suggest funkadelic, pink floyd, or olivia tremor control.

Appleseed cast sounds wicked when tripping, as does the band Air.

Also, The Faint (new cd or blank-wave) sounds like trippy dark-humorous synth-rock, and the Chin up Chin up is a has a lot of complexly wovens melodies that sounds crazy and futurisitc as hell, and Sigur Ros and Explosions in the sky produce a powerful emotional epic journey in each song, Radiohead can always be groovy and if looked at right very inspiring and uplifting, Air is a french trio that layer trippy looped music into a surreal soundscape, Broken Social Scene offers a dizzying aray of organized confusion with smooth jazzy pop, and Modest Mouse can be very emotionally involved and sound trippy as hell. Out Hud is a groovy techno-ish dance pop band,

Funkadelic's first couple of albums... get the fuckin reefer out make the room smoky then get out the hand drums and have some fun. Also, Sly stone, i recommend fresh and there's a riot goin on. Grateful dead 1968-1971 also owns.

I also recommend Soulive if funk is your kinda thing.

PINK FLOYD, especially their album Dark Side of the Moon - it is a --must trip to-- album. Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana, ...etc.
