If God gave us free will....

and God is the highest authority on Earth, then what right do religious denominations have in imposing their own brand of morality on the state?

Ahhh, this is all misunderstanding... Since we are all one consciousness which we can call God, I am a beginner in knowing in realizing this we must see will in terms of this. this one consciousness is what Jesus realized fully like Buddha and others.

An individual does not have free will, because all that exists is the one consciousness, thus individuals can contribute to the will, but the WHOLE over-rides all invidiual wills. So in a sense you have FREE WILL in the sense that YOU ARE THE ONE CONSCIOUSNESS. but if you are talking about...

So puppets "individuals" will dance to the song of the one consciousness and do thier thing. Puppets will do as they do. You can't blame the puppets, all you can blame is the one consciousness really, for any of the issues and problems on this planet. So religious sects imposing thier own brand of morality, is the will of the one consciousness.

It's hard to accept, but it gets easier to realize once you go through a beginning stage with is realizing the cosmic joke.

Jesus once said, ""When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show men they are fasting. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full."

In this he is saying spiritual practice like fasting, are not to be done to show off, or in a serious manner... This passage is saying hey get the cosmic joke, don't take yourself so seriously that you disfigure your face in spiritual practice... Get the spiritual humor of God!

 

Religion is the second oldest business on earth, and is well versed in the profitability of power play. The oldest business is regal sovereignty, and the oldest profession profits from both.

We are all one with the father, symbolic of the trasendent one consciousness.. Jesus just knew who he was... the ONE CONSCIOUSNESS... everybody is one with the mother. We are all one... we all have the divine spark that breaks us out of the illussion of seperation and unites us with all of our creation, the oneness.

I would like to hear some christian answers that go a little bit deeper than "Because they know what is right"...who are they, mormons, catholics, born agains??? I'm trying to shed a little light on hypcrisy here. Going off from what zoomie said...I as a non-believer have no interest in telling another human being how they should govern their own life as long as they are doing harm to noone else. But I am concerned about the self appointed right of some religious folks who feel a need to force us out of making our own "ungodly" choices, when your religion clearly states that the choice belongs to us. Removing our right to sin is not going to get us saved.
