For a while I was using a door that I found near the dumpster as a table. I glued a bunch of damaged sheets of pastel paper together and pasted them onto the door. It's sort of a bigass drawing, oil pastel and "soft" pastel (not sure why they are called soft. someone should just name them "chalk" pastel). What I've got so far- This gallery is kind of in reverse chronological order. http://www.hipgallery.com/photopost2/showgallery.php/cat/500/page/2/sort/2/perpage/12/password/204baf9ae0c38e61ca802a622f42453a/ppuser/1560
That's really cool man. Are gonna use it as a door in your dwelling? I'd be cool as a table, but I'd worry too much I'd might get damages. You know what would really be cool? If you hung it on your ceiling, and then put a door frame around it and a door knob, so it looks like there was a door on your ceiling leading somewhere. That would kick ass.
Are you going to urethane the poop out of it???? You may have a future in this...if you polyurethaned it like 6 layers...sanding lightly between layers, then using a tack clothe and wiping real good between coats it will look like glass on top... Hanging it on the ceiling is a cool idea....or selling it to some rich person...then going to the salvage yard and getting more stuff and fixing that up and selling it then going back to the salv.......... yep, good idea and cool work.
