like how pregnant ladies get belly casts. i'd love love love to have a mannequin of myself. then i wouldn't have to pin stuff to me, only to realize i can't get out. how to do this? plaster myself (down to knees, perhaps and up to neck) and then cut myself out?

    some advice, please!

I was thinking of doing the same thing Kayte! I think if you do the front first and then the back separately that you should be able to put the two pieces together with plaster of paris strips afterward. My hunny and I are going to give it a try and I'll let you know how it turns out! :D

I once found directions on a way to do this on the web. I can't remember where, but it involved duct tape and, I think, plastic wrap.

Get dental alginate. That way you can do a cast and it will keep every single pore and mole in beautiful detail.

i've done this before for a big sculpture project. i made casts of several girl friends of mine with plaster. use plaster in strip-cloth form to cover the person (rub em down in baby oil first) then let it dry and take it off. layer the cast with more wet plaster strips and let it dry. then fill the cast with liquid/paste plaster and let dry. or you can use wax to make the cast then fill with plaster. do each body part at a time

    You're welcome :)
I have wanted to try it, but I don't really want to look at replica of my body.
My husband thought it would be fun, but my daughter thought it would be scary to have a "mommy shape" hanging around!
