I have a lot of friends who love to do lsd. these guys like it pretty well. i've never done it because i'm a bit more natural like. one of my friends this week though has gone schizophrenic because of acid. i just hope that you guys know what you're doing when you do lsd. this guy was a really really smart guy. he did lsd 3 times in total about 3 months apart. the other day he was taken to a juvenile mental institute because he was getting overly aggressive and the cops were called by his own family for the second time this week. i think it's just important that you guys are aware that LSD does amazing things for some and tragic for others. be careful because when you see a friend who has now lost his mind you might understand how i feel
Im kinda losin my mind. But its aright for now. When you do lsd, you have to agree to never be the same. Its not like we think lsd makes us superhumans or it isnt harmful.
Nothing is perfectly safe, but LSD is up there. Just dont' abuse it. And don't let the fact that it's synthetic make you feel that mushrooms are a ton safer because they're natural. Chemicals are chemicals, is synthetic 4-ho-dmt more dangerous than mushrooms? The natural is better than synthetic idea is flawed, or religious in a way. If the latter, I suppose I won't protest.
Schizophrenia is a complicated illness. A person can have it in varying degrees. A person can be asymptomatic for years and have a sudden onset due to a variety of factors, among these being stress and drug use. Meth can push you over the edge, and hallucinogenic drugs can do it also. It's inherited, so a person who has a close relative with schizophrenia should steer clear of acid.
Are you sure it's permanent? In all the years I known LSD; living in the SF bay during that time, i have only seen 2 that lost it, But countless other that are doing very well in life. The 2 I knew came back a month or two after there psychotic brakes. If every one is so damned worried about shit like this, then Why the hell is Alcohol still legal. Alcohol is just a slower route. Fact is there's more good that comes from psychedelic use then not! The only reason it is illegal is that it frees your mind form the negative programing imposed on you by your government and the capitalistic rule over all governments!
Well really it triggers more then it causes. And I know people that got in a psychosis from smoking weed a lot. People should just know where the line is of there person; you can judge to some line how strong you are in mind. If you already tend a bit weird; don't. Then again I have the feeling psychedelics draw these people to it in some way. Most people that I know from long ago that are into tripping now were already weird back then. Maybe thats why the problems rate is rather high ^<
obviously LSD and other drugs will precipitate latent mental problems... we've known this for a very long time. 1/2000 get schizophrenia, which is the same as in the sober population. p.s. it might be 1/1000--i don't remember and i don't have time to consult my texts right now.
3 each 1000 get some sort of problem from acid (from doing once), HPPD or schitzophrenia. But the schitzophrenia count is probably lower since this includes other things..
Most of the freak outs, and everything else negatively related to LSD/psychedelic use except schizophrenia can be attributed to, bad set and setting. Schizophrenia is usually triggered if one has a family member or history of mental illness already running in ones family. It's best not to venture to deeply into the psychedelic experience if this fit your family history. Also the lack of knowledge and all the hearsay assumptions and dick sizing. Psychedelic are not toys, there sacraments, learning tools, and to some degree recreational in very low doses. Most impotent is the ritual leading up to the taking of a psychedelic i.e. set and setting. peace
lol, I read the funniest shit on boston.com the other day, the article headline was something like "Study links teenage marijuana use with psychosis" so I go into it. The article is all like "Studies are now showing that teenagers who have a family history of psychosis are more likely to develop psychosis if they smoke marijuana." WOW, thank you to the crusaders of the obvious, because without them, how else would countless dollars in research money be wasted to tell us things we already know? Like people with history of mental illness should not take drugs. Or maybe that although anti-freeze smells sweet, you should not use it as a sugar substitute. Just thought I'd throw that in, cause the family issue was brought up. But yea, LSD is not for everybody, even people without family history who have certain paranoid tendencies or over-sized egos should not take LSD. They will most likely have a traumatic experience either due to severe paranoia, unimaginable to them before their LSD adventure or With the big ego people, they get scared when their ego begins to disintegrate because they cling to their mansion-sized ego for safety. Things begin to get strange after that.
Just having a rather anxious personality made me have a traumatic experience. When the light dawned surpringly like an hour after ingestion (wtf was this dose), I felt soemthing was missing and already panicked. Then it got ugly. Little guy trying to get a grip on something real, but unable. I felt drenched in the melt of the universe. Anyone who are self conscious or used to analyze everything can have a badtrip. Also...the people who play 'the game'. Well their game . Like people who project a different image then theirselves to be part of the game and all, and they have norms and basic behaviour all the players have to use so youre cool or whatever. They will have a difficult experience probably.
i dont believe lsd will send them anywhere they cant climb out of. i played the crazy trip once until i chose to return to more "sane" thinking patterns.
