Starting monday, I will be a stay at home daddy. I am a little nervous. I know I will do fine, but my wife has been there to help me since Skye was born. My son and I get along great about 99% of the time, but sometimes he gets in these moods where he just wants mommy. He will scream and scream, and being as how I am not mommy, I am unable to cure the problem. Not much of a point to this thread, just getting my nervousness of my chest.
Oh, you'll do fine. I've got a guy in my neighborhood that says home with his 2 sets of twins all under 3 years old.
that doesn't sound bad! I like the idea of a stay home daddy sometimes daddies don't get to bond much with their kids, so I think it wil be good for you both.
Wow, that's really awesome! Don't worry, from what I've seen of you on these forums, you'll do just great. It will probably be second nature to you! {{{Hugs}}}
Look into searsparenting.com....Dr. Sears offers some great advice about how to calm baby yourself, different holds that work, and strategies.
congrats!! I hope you have some real-life support already in place, it can be really hard on stay-at-home parents, even moreso for dads because of society's problems... There are a few SAHD's in my homeschool support group, and I think they are just awesome!
i think that's just beautiful! good luck to you & your little one.....you know you've got a HUGE support group here if you need it
Thanks for the support everyone. I am sure I will be fine. It will be better when the weather gets warm. Skye loves to be outside, and there is a nice lake/wooded area not to far from mama's work. I am sure I will be here in a panic a few times though, begging "help, help" .
now you are just sounding like me and my mates with kids, what a shame you are half a world away and we can't share trips to the park!
hippylandscaper, you will be fine. How old is Skye? and you might find that without mom-smell the babe will be soothed by you.
I second the Dr. Sears advice, check out his info on calming from a dad's perspective. You will do wonderfully. I'm excited for you. Hadley
